Topic: When is day 1??? Posted: 18 December 2007 at 10:39am |
I'm starting to keep track of AF (for my gyne) and is day 1 the first full day, or is it the day she arrives??
As an example AF arrived at 7pm last night is that day 1 or is today?
Thanks

I was told not to count it as day 1 unless it arrives before lunch! If it arrives after lunch then day 1 is the next day.

At F+ they have told us, for our cycle, to count Day 1 as the first day of full fresh bleed - basically, the first day you wake up with AF. If AF arrives after 12 noon, then day 1 is the following day. So, for you, day 1 would be today.
I'm not sure if it makes an enormous difference, but F+ and FA are very specific about it for the purposes of fertility treatment.

I'm with you Jess, always thought day 1 was when it arrives no matter what time of the day... but then my AF always seems to come overnight so I've never really had to worry... guess for fertility treatment the reasoning is probably specific to what they're doing.

day 1 I was told was when you wake up with your period - so if you get it in the afternoon that doesn't count! As far as blood tests go - day 1 is morning time :o)

I'm just doing it to count days at the moment so the day she arrives (doesn't matter what time of day it is) is CD1 for me at the moment.

I was wondering why you're counting days if your DH is away LOL!

I'm counting for my dr to see if it is regular and how bad the bleeding is to see what I can do about it other than rip everything out which will happen in a few more years yet.

I have done this with Fertilty Associates Hamilton and Day 1 is the first day you wake up with your period.
