right i already typed this once but will do it again..

for the last few hours I've been really uncomfortable...I've had it before but mostly when either he was changing position of having a BH.. starts at the bottom of bump and kinda moves up ..feels like I'm tensing all the muscles in my stomach at once and then just stays like that (so far for an hour went away and now back)

There's no pain just uncomfy.. it went away for about ten mins but is back now:( it kinda (now sorry if this is TMI but i have no shame) feels like I have to go number 2's and i tried but it didnt really happen.. same thing happened about 2am this morning..

is it just my stupid body getting ready for the next few weeks?so should i ignore it..or keep an eye on it..or only worry if there is pain?

TIA

Maybe its the baby pushing down on that area getting ready? Cos I know many women get that feeling like they need to go numbers 2's before labour, so maybe its him pushing down getting himself ready?
If its not painful...just uncomfy then Id say theres nothign to stress about as yet, but if you get the trots or start having crampy pain then Id ring your MW.

Hey Kaww, I been getting this too - And it can be a sign of things too come.

Last night I had that same pain, accompaneid by a dull ache in my lower back, they came and went and came and went... Pain in the ass really.

Couldn't do anything whatsoever to get comfy.

But was talking to my mum (who's had 6 kids) and midwife, and they both have said that it's definately a good sign of things to come... I had my show about 2 weeks ago now, so I damn well hope this is it! Lol.

In the end, I ended up taking rescue remedy, heating up the wheat warmer and having a cup of warm milk to try relax myself... Seemed to work. I managed to go to sleep... And wouldn't you know it - I woke up and everything had stopped - DAMNIT! This little girl of mine's a tease... The boys aren't gonna like her

So yeah, feeling like your butt's about to explode is normal, and can be a sign of things to come.. Kinda crampy and uncomfortable, similar to period cramps, but NOT quite.

I've been having them for ages now... I'm OVER it. Hope the accupuncture with the mnidwife tomorrow helps things move along

I had that kind of pain the day I went into labour. Nothing I could do would make me feel comfortable, and he was moving around like a wiggly thing.

Keep an eye on it. Call your midwife if you get even more uncomfortable than you already are.

Hmmm I just re-read your post. The pain at the bottom of your bump where abouts are they? and how far up your bump do they go? It could just be BH's.....

Yeah, what I've been doing is just jotting down when they come and go... Just in case there's a pattern there that I probably wouldn't pick up on otherwise. (I'm not really that observant, lol)

If they become more frequent or more painful/uncomfortable, I'd be inclined to just alert SOMEONE... I know what you mean bout not wanting to inconvenience your midwife as she's not your normal one... I had that problem all over Christmas.

So yeah, just keep an eye on things

Sounds similar to the pain I was getting a few days ago... sometimes it lasted 4-6 hours in one painful contraction, sorry if that's depressing news! My midwife said that it could go on for weeks, unfortunately, but she said its a good sign that hopefully at least I won't go overdue!

She also said u will definitely know when it's labour as the contractions will be time-able.

If the pain gets too bad or u get any other symptoms though, I would ring ur midwife to at least let her know whats happening!

Yeah all that niggly pain and cramps etc can go on for weeks. When I was 38ish weeks I posted a similar topic about niggles and it all lasted 2 weeks unfortunately. But at least it means your body is doing what it should be and getting ready for this baby to come out soon.

Hi, sounds all promising, the feelings like you wanted to "go" my sister had that same sort of feeling at about 4 or 5 in the morning when she had her boy, she said she was up & down to the toilet wanting to but nothing happening, she was then headed to the hospital at around 9am and had her baby just after 2pm so it all sounds good for you!

I dont mind waiting a few weeks..just glad its all happening like its supposed to:)

yeah i realise it probably will take few days...mw back on the 5th so any day after that would be good:) but he will come when hes ready..its given me the incentive i need to pack my bag:)! how exciting!

Sounds exciting, hopefully things happen soon, but not too soon (so your normal midwife is back)
