Those of you with monitored alarms do you know how long it actually takes the monitoring company to come out and check your house? Our alarm went off not so long ago and they called me at work, I asked them to send someone and then headed home myself. I beat them and had to wait for nearly 30mins for them to arrive. Just over 40mins it took them to get here. They assured me that they had sent someone straight away.

They're very good at calling though. We forget to turn the alarm off when we get up in the mornings sometimes and even if we've managed to run and turn it off while the keypad is beeping they still call within 30 seconds.

Anyone else timed their alarm company?

Our house and business in Parnell are both monitored. The house monitoring touch wood have been very good so far, ringing immediately, especailly when I set the fire alarm off with the steam from my hot shower, whoopsy!

As for the business monitoring, the alarm went off, they immediately despatched a patrol car and rung us to tell us the situation. After checking the premises they rang back and said all was o.k, obviously a false alarm! When DH arrived into work the next morning, we had in fact been robbed, they had stolen all our Mac Design computers and the window they got in through was wide open! I still wonder to this day if they even sent a patrol car to check it out. Hence the reason we got a refund on our monitoring and changed companies!! How bad is that!!

Doesn't answer your question, but hows that for a shocking monitoring company!!

Man that is slack Peachy!! If I were your insurance company I would've stung them for that.

Although I have heard of cases where these little toads have set off alarms, gone off and hid somewhere to see what happens and then come back and taken everything once the coast was clear. I really despise the sorts of people that make it necessary for you to even have an alarm.

Like I said though, ours are really good at calling (i set it off again this morning when I got out of bed) but they don't seem to get here to the house in any great hurry. And the guy that did come certainly wouldn't scare anyone away.

We had a monitored alarm. They write the time they get to the house on a checking slip and it was usually 20-40 minutes after they called us. So we changed company too.
