Thick, gooey mucus - clearish in colour, with a hint of pink (from what I can remember).

Sounds very "showy" to me.
I had 24 hours of lower back pains (very regular and increased in strength) then I got a very thick mucus with a tinge of red and brown blood.
Within 6 hours I was 4cm dilated and in full labour.
GOOD LUCK!

I see you still have a few weeks to go so thought I would let you know that it is normal to have a show even a couple of weeks before labour starts, but I would contact your m/w just to let her now.

certainly sounds like a show....mine was clear, thick mucus, almost snot like didn't know it was there until i went to the toilet and it was enough to need 3 wipes to get it all. that was saturday morning, went into labour monday. but as cuppatea said, it can still be 2-3wks before anything happens.......let us know what your mw says

snot - exactly... if you think of it as a mucus plug i think that explains it better than "show".

I was going to say SNOT too The amount varies from person to person from a little bit to a huge amount. Mine was the huge amount, followed by waters breaking and then birth 3.5hrs later. But as the others have said it can still be a couple of weeks till anything happens.

Yup that's it! It can be a variety of colours but I recall Briona's being like a thick latex glove
