Jake is developing a mullet whichI'm not im[pressed about (in Japan its actually faashionable, but we are not in Japan now) and I've decided to get his hair cut. Problem is, i can't imagine him sitting still for that length of time. Ladies in Palmy and Wellington, do you have an hair salon suggestions?? it's taken him sooooo long to grow this hair that I don't mind his first haircut being a little pricey, but cheap would be better.

I know in Hamilton we have salons especially for kids, and they are quite reasonable so maybe there is a place like that down your way, try the yellow pages and let your fingers do the walking, lol.

We went to Carnival Kids in Ponsonby (which is Auckland so no good to you lol but just wanted to share). It was $18 which is kinda pricey, but they were so great with Maya. She was about 18 mths, and she got to sit on a toy elephant and watch Shrek on DVD while they cut her hair, then she got glitter hairspray, some pretty clips, a balloon and a lollipop, plus a First Haircut certifcate, so all together I thought it was a good deal.

Haven't seen one. Hannah is also developing an unruly mane.
Kat said that in Haitaitai there is a place that does it for $10.
I went to one by my place and they said they'd charge $25 !?!??!?!!? wtf?!?!? She doesn't even have $25 worth of hair to cut!!!

Yes there is one in the Hataitai village.. was going to post and say but didn't know if it would be of any help to you as I thought u were in Palmy.. but I'm really happy with the way she cuts Ella's hair, and she's had 3 haircuts now!
My friend takes her boy there too and he's had about 6 or 7 cuts lol..

yes, I will remind you of that Ana, when Josef gets his mullet in.
My dad lives in wellington so I come down quite often, hence wellingtton beoing okay for jake's haircut. maybe I';ll just shave it myself, then again, I'll probably get sympathy looks from people who think he has cancer or something....maybe not.

You can shoosh Ana - haven't seen the 'Bald back of head' making a comeback (Altho I did try to convince people it was cool when Hannah was sporting the look)

I kinda hope Taine gets that, cause at the moment we have hairy shoulders/back and easr!!! I remember Jake had the same affliction, and it did fall out....here's hoping.

yeah kinda scary when they're hairy babies - paris was a hairy baby, lots of dark hair, and she had the hair on her forehead that went down to her eyebrows and it was kinda dark too - i was so scared she'd end up being that way forever - but it went away! yay! - kinda bad when it's on a girl

At least your kids have hair! Kiya has had 2 haircuts in her life - both last year! The first was just after she turned 4, at Kids Hair Club in Hamilton. The second was at Just Cuts in Bayfair, just before Christmas. We'll get her hair cut again, just before she starts school (so in March) and that will make 3 haircuts in 12 months!
I found an old picture of Kiya where she's 13 months old - Josiah already has slightly longer hair than she did then!

Apparently I was bald until i was two, when my father took me to a barber for my first haircut. I had an army cut! Mum was so unimpressed and still talks about it to this day!
