Topic: Cheesy warm fuzzy moment... Posted: 01 February 2006 at 8:06am |
Sometimes my hubby (to be) can be a grumpy bugger, but 99% of the time he's really lovely...
Anyway, I managed to snaffle 5 days off in a row, and when I went to get up today about half an hour after he'd left for work - I discovered he had scheduled "I love you baby" as an 'all day event' on my appointments calendar on my pocket pc !!
He still does the cutest things every now and then, and still sends me mushy txt messages (which I am very fond of), and is being really supportive and getting right into the whole pregnancy.
I'm not religious or Christian, but every day I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to meet him - I reckon his sort are pretty rare ! We've had a handful of arguments, but never anything serious that we couldn't talk about. Sadly I was with a real loser before I met Rols, but I guess it has given me the ability to appreciate things even more.
Righto so... that's all my mushyness for today ! Thanks for listening

It's always the little thoughtful things that leave a lasting impression with us isn't it. It's what they say and do that means the most, not what they buy or own. Lucky girl Jax - you have a keeper there

My boy is totally wonderful too. The other night after a particularly long and hard day at work and then a tour round the hospital we're delivering at, we got home and he was really insistant that I have a nice bath. Well, tired grumpy girl snapped at him, told him I was going to bed and stomped off. The next morning I went into the bathroom (not the one we use everyday) and there on the end of the bath was a big box of bath bombs, massage bar and nice moisturiers from Lush!!! He'd wanted it to be a surprise for me, and had even lit candles (which he'd had to blow out of course when I packed a tanty!). We don't have lots of money or anything, so something special like this is just amazing. And he constantly tells me how beautiful I am, and how beautiful 'our' bump is. Aaaah, he's so amazing

Sometimes I wish Lewis would be more romantic, but the couple of times he has, I've ended up cracking up...not quite hte response he was looking for I'm guessing - then he gets all pouty.

Mine is a wonderful father and a wonderful partner - not outwardly romantic, but has the future in mind all the time. We are always making plans for future things and most of all I trust him implicitly. He is certainly the best thing that ever happened to me - coming from a terrible relationship prior to him, meeting him made me realise how great things really could be.
He's a haunted man at the moment though because he had to drop our daughter off at daycare this morning and she didn't want him to leave. He said all he could hear when he left was her calling out "Daddy", so he's feeling really upset. I phoned daycare to see if she was alright so I could put the poor guy's mind at rest. Really bothered him that he had to leave his little girl behind when she was so upset. So he really does have emotions tucked away in there somewhere!!

My favourite moment between Nathaniel and Kiya happened just after we got engaged. We were all lying on my bed one afternoon, and Nathaniel asked Kiya "Can I be your daddy?"
Kiya (then 2.5yrs old) looked at him and very seriously replied "Yes. Can I be your daughter?" Nathaniel was crying as he hugged her and said she could.

How funny Emma - I can imagine my little girl saying something like that. From the moment we get home from work/daycare - every car that drives past, she points and says "Daddy" and every family photo she looks at she keeps pointing to Clinton and saying "Daddy". I say yes but where's mummy and she points to Daddy again and says "Daddy". She is certainly Clinton's little Mini-me.

I guess it's true what they say about little girls being Daddy's girl. I mean, I'm the big growly Mama that says no ice cream, and go to bed, and brush your teeth and no more TV. And he's the nice Daddy that says Come here my baby, and do you want some icecream and isn't Mama mean to you.
So it's no wonder she's Daddy's girl...
Although that's kind of a good thing when she wakes up at 2am and calls out for Daddy - I just lie in bed and giggle while he gets up.
