...into the Maori community at Massey today.

I come from Ngai Tahu (Kaikoura to be exact) and have had my family tree done and it goes all the way back to the chiefs that signed the Treaty (Te Ropeha (SP?)).

It was really nice, they put on a huge feed for us of a BBQ and salad. And we were given some challenges to do and if we do them we get a Maori@Massey t shirt and some other stuff. We were told who our advisors are and i'm lucky I used to work with mine so she gave me one of last years shirts as I filled the bags of goodies for all of us newbies.

I'm really glad I am able to have that help avaliable to me.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Do you know where you are from Mel?? I have my iwi numbers (we have 2) but we hail mostly from Kaikoura.

I thought so I know they have good scholarship schemes etc and do quite a bit of property development down here too. Apparently Jesse's Grandad was well respected within the tribe when he was alive.
