get thee to the dr asap tomorrow???

I've been on the pill - estelle - (only the actives) for 23 days now. On and off I have had spotting and clots .

On the 22 of Jan I went to see my dr about it (well my nurse to ask her about it and saw my dr) and he gave me some Provera to take to "dry" me up. Its not working .

Tonight I go to have my nice hot bath that I had been really looking forward to as its cold here and I get in and I expel a rather large (the size of an old 50c piece) blood clot .

Now I am so sure that this is not normal. When DH was here we did have a few unprotected times  and it was around ovulation time too (if I did actually ovulate) but I don't think I am pregnant as the pill should be working - shouldn't it?????

So should one Beck's be getting an appointment to bi*ch at her dr tomorrow?? I have an appointment to see my specialist at the end of this month as that was the earliest I could see him .

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I've had clots the size of my palm (ew) quite regularly, but because of PCOS and endo (and a history of heavy and/or irregular periods) the doctors never even blink.

Have you had a regular period recently?

Yep the 2 before I started the pill were both 25 days apart, now the pill is meant to stop all bleeding.

Didn't think the PCOS and endo would cause the clots thou.

I only get period's every few months (sometime's I can go 6 months without one, especially when not on meds) so it's not really suprising for the blood to build up and clot etc. Clots are actually a symptom of endo.

When I have my lap (hopefully soon... on the waiting list 6 months this month after being declined insurance last year), they will do a D&C as well just because I haven't had one in a while (period that is...lol)

Blood clots suck!

I don't think you need to worry yet Becks, your body might just be having a good cleanout due to the new hormones.
Of course if you have bad cramping or heavy bleeding or more large clots then I'd be off to the doc to make sure its nothing to worry about.
It might take up to 3 months for your body to adjust to the pill and stop spotting. Its happened to me every time I start the pill
Hope it doesn't take that long for you though chick, make sure you keep your iron up so you don't need more jabs eh?

I agree with everyone else, and clotting is one of the biggie symptoms of endo (along with pain and heavy periods of course!).
Maybe ring your doctor if you need some peace of mind.

I had to see my dr coz Andrew is sick and I spoke to him about it. As I have an appointment with my gyne he's going to leave it with him. Bt does think I should reconsider another baby now or get everything removed.

Bugger, that makes it a bit tough with the other half of the baby-making equation off doing his bit for Queen and country...

Did you follow the 7 day rule when you started on your pill??? Or is Estelle a low dose? Haven't been on it for so long I can't remember but I once changed to a lower dose pill and I bled all month, had to go back on a 32 or 35 one which fixed the problem.

7 day rule???

I had been on it 11 days when DH came home if that helps.

The 7 day rule is when you start a pill or if you've been on antibiotics or something that affects it, they usually advise you to wait 7 days before having unprotected sex just to give it time to start working again. But 11 days should rule that one out.

Estelle is a high dosage one mrskmm, from memory about 4 times stronger than monofeme or similar.

Becks, when I was on Estelle I used to get huge clots all the time and because of *suspected* endo, my PCOS, and my prostratic glandular contraction thingy-majig (lol!) the docs never cared about it. They're even better when I haven't had a period for a year and then I get one (without being on the pill), it's so gross (sorry TMI).
