Topic: Getting SO FRUSTRATED! Posted: 12 March 2008 at 1:50pm |
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....
You'd think with the world at my fingertips it would be easy to find a single A-Frame(aluminium) swing with toddler seat AND a heavy duty plastic play gym/activity climber ...im tossing up between the two as ideas for bubs main B'day pressie from his Grandparents.
Have been glued to the internet for days now and sadly google is NO LONGER MY BEST FRIEND! ...im running out of ideas.
I like Pipsqueaks swings & structures, but want to exhaust all options before splurging out on the first thing I see when I can maybe get a better deal elsewhere/more for my money.
Can anyone point me in a different direction to find any of what I've mentioned above?

Ours is a Hills swing set and came from KMart.
Not sure about the play structures tho as have never looked into them.

I've been thinking about swings and slides recently.
We have decided against the plastic stuff like pipsqueaks because they don't really last that long. They are small and only last a couple of years.
We are going to get a steel one that has a baby seat swing, normal swing and slide (or something similar). We had one of these at home for years and I remember using it for ages (like I have memories of using it - well the swing anyway - when I was 14) whereas one of those plastic ones I would have grown out of so fast.

I hear what you're saying Kebakat, that was my first initial thoughts and Toyworld atm has two decent hills swingsets (a really good brand) on special ...saving up to 150bux on each! ...problem is they have weird combinations for swings etc.
The one with two swings, a slide and the trapeze rings is $219 down from $369 ...but i have to get the compatible toddler seat on top of that and they're around 50-60bux ...but like you said they're a better investment than the plastic playgrounds that they outgrow so so fast!
Nana has given us 80 bux, my parents will put forward around 100 ...so if i pitch in 100 we should be sweet. I think half the time i get his toys for myself ...just the enjoyment i get out of seeing his face light up, its priceless.
Can't wait to push him on a swing for the first time ...ill be shattered if he doesn't like it LOL

Oh and to add, my Nana had a similar steel swingset up at her place when my brother & I were younger too ...I think I was still using it up until I was at highschool highschool (14ish) ...great times had there.

I got the girls a Hills swing and slide set when Lesieli was 7 and Mercedes was 2 and it is still going strong after nearly 6 years of service. The girls still play on it including Alize and it will be around for a few years to come as it is in great conditions.
Mum2Lucus havent you taken him to the local park for a swing?? I bet he will love it. Alize will sit to be pushed for hours if I let him lol..

Kels I don't feel safe going to any parks around here with it being just Lucas & I (South Auckland ...need I say more?) LOL
I imagine he is going to absolutely LOVE the swing, he was a jolly jumper fanatic and loved swinging on that, so much so that I had to take him off it at 7 months as he got too adventurous swinging into the doorways

Do you ever head into Sylvia park? Tehre is a playground at the baby factory end - though I don't know if there are swings there though.
