I ordered this book a few weeks ago after seeing it on the Oprah show
My Mum brought it around for me this afternoon and I seriously haven't been able to put it down!
It is so cool! And so, so easy! Even for the least kitchen friendly person I am totally inspired.
It is written by Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry's wife) and is a recipe book all about using pureed vegetables in simple tasty recipes as a way of sneaking them into picky eaters.
There are all sorts of yummy recipes from homemade chicken nuggets with broccoli, spinach or kumera, to chocolate brownies with spinach, to mac n' cheese with pumpkin.
I screwed up my nose at the idea of brownies with spinach (as did Oprah) but they tested them and other recipes on a classroom of unsuspecting schoolchildren who all raved about how yummy they were even after they fessed up about the sneaky veg!
All of the recipes are ready to eat in 30 mins or less and its not too American either. Yay for sly goodness in yummy foods!

BTW, OB is giving some away in the giveaways section if you're interested!

Hehe, yeah I read about that when I was looking for the book to order online.
It sounds like the other lady has got sour grapes because Jessica's celebrity factor will get her book a lot more interest and promotion and it would be next to impossible for her to have 'copycatted' the other lady's idea in the 6 months after her book was released!
I had a look at the other one and it just didn't look as user friendly or simple. The recipes weren't as easy or quick either.
I think she's just jealous that someone else did it better

Hey, does anyone who has a copy want to write a review of Deceptively Delicious for the book reviews section of the site? :)

I brought the book after seeing it on Oprah also and have made a couple of things out of it and thought they were pretty average! Also think its rather expensive baking as it has lot sof common american ingredients that aren't so common here so mean they are more expensive e.g treacle, whole wheat flour, molasses etc.

Sorry to be a grump but was sooo excited about it and now wish I hadn't wasted my money.
