Topic: I Start Work Tomorrow Posted: 18 March 2008 at 8:03am |
I really dont want to. Its a case of having too.
I dont want to leave Kylah. Shes growing up so fast and now im leaving to work three days in a row a week! I feel bad. I know its going to be worse tomorrow when i actually have to leave and sit at work for 5 hours. Then thursday, another 5 hours. Then Friday, the most horribl day of the week being a 10 hour shift.
I havent even found a new car to buy! So walkings on the agenda for me, but working? I really cant seem to get it to sink in.

10 hour shift is a bit rough!
You will get used to being back at work might take a few weeks but think of all the fun things you can buy Kylah with the extra money!
I am working 2 days a week and thats how I get cope with it!

the first day is the worst, but it does get better.
having said that, i have only worked a whole 2mths since i had jack. but that's just the way it worked out as i got pregnant with charli
best of luck kandice! just think of the money honey
and don't take offense to this or anything, but i do believe it's good for kids to be away from their sole caregiver for a while.

Aw hun - the first week or so will be the worst - make it through that and you'll be OK. But that 10 hour shift sounds rough - yeouch! You've probably already seen it but 'The Stuarts' put up a couple of threads with some cool advice/support for empolyed mums. What helped me too was a night a week of getting take-out (on the day that I worked the latest), cooking double around once a week and having a re-heated dinner the next night, and leaving Ella's formula, nappies, wipes - everything that didn't have to be made fresh for the day, with her caregiver so there was less to rush about with in the morning.
And hugs to you about the emotional side of it all - it isn't easy, but it'll be OK. Is Kylah going to be hanging out with her Nana, or making new little friends at a daycare? Ella loved her carer so much that I felt bad taking her away from that regular time they had together when my contract ended - so see... it really gets heaps easier after that initial hurdle!

That's perfect for Kylah - spesh time with her daddy and her Nana... just hard on mum.
Will it help to think about the coffee breaks? You get proper ones!!! With no-one pawing at you or tipping your coffee over! And you can go to the loo at work by yourself - yes, all by yourself like you used to do before you became a mummy!

I'm back at work 4 days a week from the 2nd April so I know how you feel. It's so hard isn't it. I really don't want to do it. But we so need the money.
I've done it twice before and I know the first few weeks will be really hard but both of you will get used to it, probably her faster than you because she will be having a lovely time with Nana and Daddy and you will be working .

I know how you feel , when Caitlyn was 8months i went back to work for 3 days a week, and it was so hard! all i could think of was her, and i swear i could hear her , now im used to it and so is caitlyn ( i work full time now, 5 days a week) .
Kylah will be fine , to be honest it'll be you that misses her more than she misses you.
Think of all the nice stuff you'll be able to buy her :-)and it just means the time you do spend with her will be even more special :-)
good luck for your first day !

Good Luck The first week was just awful when I went back to work full time. I had NEVER left Luke and just was a mess. But you get through it.
The best thing is your mum is looking after her
Take care think of the extra money you will have
