Topic: Is this normal? Posted: 24 March 2008 at 5:51pm |
I thought a couple of days ago it was all over. Nothing but the tiniest bit when I wiped and my body felt normal. Then yesterday I had some more blood (red rather than the brown I had been getting) and cramps again.
Is it normal to stop and start like that?
Also wondered how long does it usually take your hcg levels to return to 0 once you have done the bleeding thing? Almost 3 weeks ago they were 1100, then 2 days later 900.. a week later 500 and last week they were 300ish. I've got another blood test this week *sigh*

I dont have any advice but I just wanted to send my condolances.
My SIL said she stopped and started bleeding for 2 weeks when she miscarried, if thats any help at all. But I guess its different for everybody. FPA did tell me that if bleeding was prolonged in any way or if I thought it was erratic then they could do a d&c to speed it up a bit but I was finished in 3-4 days. HcG??? I have heard it can take 6 weeks to get down to zero
Again so sorry for your loss

Yep, it's normal for the bleeding to start and stop on and off, especially if your levels are still quite high, but I have no idea how long it will take them to drop off completely coz I don't know much about ectopic pregnancies.

The hospital told me that it could take up to 12 weeks to miscarry naturally although I guess that must be the extreme end.

Mine isn't natural, I've had some very very very extreme drugs to flush this out (because it's ectopic)

I had extreme drugs as well for my mc, because they weren't sure if it was ectopic or not, my levels were low but rising VERY slowly but they also weren't going down while bleeding. I had to have blood tests every 2 days for 7 weeks to make sure they did go back to 0 - the last blood test I had the day before my laparoscopy was at 2, and they were happy with that. I had bleeding on and off for 4 weeks, then the drugs which took 4-5 days of solid bleeding before it calmed down again. I hope it eventually sorts itself out for you.

It seems to have stopped again today.
Bloods every 2 days for 7 weeks! yuck! I'm thankful mine are only once a week now but I hate even that much!
