Topic: Uh oh, rant time! Posted: 17 February 2006 at 8:28pm |
I feel very sad at the mo My friend is getting married tomorrow and I am chief bridesmaid, there are 2 other BMs. The bride was my BM last year and we have been friends since we were tiny, but have sort f drifted apart over the years. Catch up regularly tho. Anyway, heres all the things that I have been left out of/not told about:
- Bride and other 2 BMs getting lovely fingernails
- organising the hens party (I tried to start it ages ago but was just told that itwas all sorted)
- The night after the hens party they all went out again (with other friends as well)
- Have had to ask about when to turn up for makeup practice and wedding rehersal tonight
- Offered numerous times to help with setting up the hall today but was told I wasnt needed as everyone else was taking the day off work to help out
- And this is the biggy, I didnt get told about the rehersal dinner tonight! Only know about it cos I heard others talking about it at the rehersal tonight. I even said a couple of times, ok then I'll see you tomorrow, but the bride still didnt say anything about it. What is up with that!
Anyway, feeling very over this whole weddign thing and cant wait for it to be over tomorrow. I think they all assume I have no time cos I've got a baby even tho I always say I have heaps of spare time (which I do). It just would have been nice t have been given the option of whether I could go to all these things, rather than just feeling left out and like I shouldnt even be in the wedding party. Oh well, rant over now. Thanks ladies.

Good to hear that you had a good time, and don't worry you aren't the only Nana out there.

I'm usually the worst though I managed a night out last night and with the help of No Doz had quite a big one. Mind you, when I got home at 2am I couldn't get to sleep properly and this morning was hell. I gave into my limits on Hannah's TV watching and crashed out on the couch while she was entranced with cartoons

Nikki I have done that with th eboys too but it soooooo backfired on me. I woke to keegs standing infront of me with red all over his hands and freaked thinking whats he chopped of???? They had climbed onto my desk and found and old leaky red pen and smeared it all over my desk then with felts and pen had drawn on the wall, the windows, their toys, my desk, my swiss ball, the fire place, the fire hearth - i think thats all lol. Oh thats right they emptied the ashes out of the fire place (luckily they were cold!!!). Oh the things you have to look forward too. I swear they only started getting into this mischief once they turned 2.
Just quietly between all of us, somedays I could put them on trademe - free to a good home
PS whats this no doze stuff? Am going to UB$) this week - yayay - so may need a bit of a boost

Glad your day turned out ok too aimee and hey its ok to feel bummed about it all. I did when my bestfriend chose someone else to be her head bridesmaid as they were having my ex as best man which in the end he didnt even come to the wedding. And her headbridesmaid didnt help her with anytihgn as she lived 2.5 hrs away and was preggers so I ended up doing it all. I got over it all but was just hurt at the time. Us females are funny creatures sometimes huh

My old friend called in a few days ago and caught up which was nice, but it turned out she was going to a friends wedding. A high school we three had been inseperable, however my friend got an invite and i didn't. i was hurt too, even when i realised that we hadn't seen each other ion over 5 years.....
not as bad Aimee, but i undersatdn your pain. Maybe later you can tell your friend how you felt? Or maybe not, i wouldn't - don't like confrontaion.

Oh Aimee...I am behind on all the goss again....but here is my 2 cents worth. I think it was mean the way your friends handled the situation. If they did this because you have a baby then they should have told you that...I would have been hurt and angry!!! but then my hubby says that my anger sits on the tip of my nose...he he ha ha.
I am glad you had a nice day and next time just dont worry about people like that, just do your own thing and enjoy yourself!!! I do hope tho that one way or the other you get to find out why they acted this way.....

Im with you liz - hate confrontation, much easier to hold a grudge!! lol On friday night my lovely hubby was all fired up and ready to go give them a talking to at the rehersal dinner cos I was so upset when I got home from the ceremony rehersal! Managed to calm him down tho.
