Topic: The Pill? Posted: 02 April 2008 at 3:23pm |
Just wondering if anyone else had significant changes when they came off the pill??
I've been on a 3rd Gen for 15 years and just came off it. Before hand, I had no energy, absolutely no libido, was not affectionate and always felt a bit blue. The past 3 weeks have been amazing. I'm happy, content, lost weight, libido has jumped to a point where it's even shocked hubby, i'm motivated and feel more well than I have in years.
Could this be the pill? I can't believe it could have made such a difference to my personal well being while I was on it. Has anyone else had similar experiences??
Cheers

ick I found that all birth control seemed to cause me problems, now that im on nothing it is fantastic and I couldnt be happier. After this baby I really want to chart and stuff rather than jumping into another hormonal form of b/c.

Yep, I was on the pill for 6 years, and while I was on it I had REALLY severe period pain, to the point it would make me vomit at least once each cycle and always feeling queasy. Finally I stopped it a year ago and haven't had period pain ever since!
Then again, a friend of mine had severe period pain before she went on the pill, and now that she's on it she doesn't get any! Random...

My mother put me on the pill when I was 15. Partly due to vomiting and fainting with PMS and partly due to my older sister falling preggers at 14.
My PMS was awful. The pain was unbearable and I was off school for days on end in bed. Throwing up, passing out, all the lovely stuff that makes being female great.
It all went away on the pill so i'm dreading my first real period which i'm hoping will be here in about 10 days so I can start charting. Have to see if my cycle regulates.

I notice this each time I take the sugar pills, that my libido goes thru the roof and DH pays me more attention. Is always a bugger cause AF usually arrives after a few days and spoils the fun.
I put it down to the hormones that are stopped by the pill it mimics pregnancy, and obviously you aren't attractive to the man when your pregnant IYKWIM.
I had a break end of last year, and AF turned up on time and was later than when I remember it before BCP.
But then I never had any problems with AF or my cycle before going on the pill.
