OMG I was bawling my eyes out.

When those big strong brave men had tears welling in their eyes, that set me off.

Definately tugged at my heart strings

It was so sad!! My sister and 2 kids were at the school gala across the road. We couldn't get hold of her for ages but luckily she was all ok. Pretty traumatic for the kids to see though

I was wondering how our Waikato mummies were getting on, glad you guys are ok. Hugs for your sister and her kids Kelly, and your student's father Anna. I guess in a place as small as Hamilton most people will know someone who has been involved or affected

Yeah we walked past our fire station today and one of the trucks must have still been there but they were washing the other one down. It was a very sombre atmosphere thats for sure. We are about 15mins drive from Tamahere but could still see the big cloud of smoke today from our house
