I know we have had this thread in the toddler section, but I'm actually not bringing this up in relation to babies, rather about myself instead !

Is it safe / ok just to have your earlobes pierced when you're pg? I have a funny feeling it probably is something to avoid, and it's not that I'm a stranger to piercing, body art, and hygienic piercing practices etc - but just thought I'd check here to see if anyone else has ideas or feedback.

Hrmmmmmmm... I couldn't see why it'd be a problem while preggo???
Not unless you need to take morpheine for the pain. But I'm pretty sure you'd be able to handle it. (If you weren't then I'd fear for you going into labour )

LOL The pain is definitely not an issue

I used to have five in one ear and six in the other at one stage ! I only have two in one and *maybe* three in the other now - the rest have closed up because I didn't / couldn't always wear them often enough.

I would say it should be fine. That said, I don't cut my hair while I'm pregnant because of a Maori cultural belief, so you can imagine what state it will be in by the time this baby arrives!

Forgive me if this actually comes across as totally ignorant, but does it have anything to do with cutting hair representing cutting off growth in other parts of life? Not very au fait with broader Maori beliefs / practices that are just a part of life for you and others... so a random guess really !

Hey, I don't see why it would be a big thing the only thing i could think about is that disease thing you get from needles (not too sure what it is) but i guess at a chemist or something maybe it would be okay

Disease thing from needles? I'm not too sure what you mean, but if the equipment isn't clean, whether it's a gun or needles, then you can get all sorts of nasty infections. I'd be very particular about where I'd go to get it done, which would basically be the same place where I've had everything else, including my tattoos. Might get it done this weekend, not sure yet !
