    Posted: 26 April 2008 at 11:32am
Has anyone else found that the new 'stretchy tab' they've introduced has been detrimental to the quality of their nappies? I've had several nappies where the tabs have ripped off when I'm trying to put them on Lucas so naturally I'm not a happy customer.

I'm going to ring their consumer line and make a complaint, so much for progression & improvement.

At least Huggies nappies seem to be of better quality ...in fact I'm finding them far more superior in comparison to Treasures nowadays.

Anyone else finding that they are having problems with these new stretchy tabs too?

I don't use these, but I know a friend of mine had that problem (infact one was even missing one tab).

Hmm...no problems here.... I just bought 256 of them, too, so I hope they're OK.
Never had a prob with Huggies though. Prefer them BY FAR to Treasures.

yep, I have ripped off a few of these and I have found that the nappies are smaller too! The tabs unstick quite easy as well....I bought a packet a while back as a back up and am looking forward for them to be all used up

I thought it was odd that the nappies appeared smaller, glad to know its not just me. According to their sizing Lucas is in Junior naps but weight wise he should be in Walker like he is with huggies.

And here I was thinking my boy was packing on the pounds

Edited due to my stupidity.

I must be the odd one out then coz I prefer Treasures to Huggies hands down, Huggies are a much smaller cut and shorter rise and it bugs me having to buy a size up and getting fewer nappies for my money.
We did have a faulty packet of Giggles a few weeks ago and I rang and complained and they sent me a replacement.

Have you tried the new stretchy tabs Emma? They have a darker purple packet, my supermarket only started stocking them 2 weeks back...

I used to find that Treasures were a bigger cut too but not with these new stretchy tabs

I just did a nappy trial on Lily with huggies and treasures and treasues kicked huggies butt. She leaked through so many of the huggies and not a single treasures. haven't noticed any issues with the stretch sides at all, and that is what we are using at the moment. Even contained the poosplosions from the tummy bug.

Is Lily quite thickset through her tummy? You haven't noticed a change in the sizing?

I thought the stretchy sides would help accommodate bubs growing tum, but seems to throw the whole nappy shape out of whack.

Could be a boy/girl thing, or could totally depend on the shape of bubs body/tummy/bottom.

I'm guessing the last two nappy packs (which i purchased at the same time) are maybe faulty as they were probably from the same batch...

When Luc was younger and had poosplosions (as in the type that travel up the back ...sometimes even reaching his neck urgh) - I always found that Huggies contained the poo somewhat better than the Treasures but I put that down to the nappies being specifically designed for boys, even back then they seemed to fit bub better around the legs and waist.

Then as Lucas got older I swayed more towards the idea of buying whatever was on special as opposed to sticking to the one brand, especially since he's now in Walkers and you only get 18 nappies in a pack. $9.99 is the most I'll ever pay LOL

A girlfriend of mine recently complained about them as she had "wasted" about half a dozen. They sent out a whole new packet for her.

I like them due to their size but do find the stretchy bits painful!!

I found treasures awful from day dot.
When we bought Kylah home from hospital she was in treasures and we leaked every nigt. Used huggies for awhile, then used cloth untill she was 6 months, bought a pack of treasures and she was soaked when i got her up. Have not had a leak with huggies ye.

we did the bubba nappy trial last year and i hated huggies then...tried them again recently as they were on special...got nappy rash!!! BAD!!!!

back in treasures - they fit a lot better. We also use Ultimate and Pams orange packs - very similar to treasures. Ella is in walker size wise but is heading towards needing a bigger size...!!! length is a real problem in huggies...treasures have gone the distance for us...and so much cheaper than huggies too.

We had issues with a large box of huggies newborn and when we rang to complain we were told that we needed to get 4 nappies (1 from each row top and bottom) and send them to Aussie for 'assessment' and then if they decided there WAS an issue then they would give us a replacement.

Ummm ok and what were we meant to do in the meantime?

That lack of customer care has totally put me off Huggies - luckily Rowan fitted into her cloth naps the same week so that was that as far as I was concerned.

We still get the small packages at the moment but as soon as I figure out a workable night nappy system they'll be gone too.

I would use Treasures instead if it weren't for the little moisture balls that come through the nappy and on to Rowan's skin.

have you tried the New world ones - ultimate or pams...just as good as treasures....one may be an unbranded treasures. and not nearly the gel stuff as huggies...

we have a brand at DC from babyiesonline that is pretty good too....maybe get some sample packs to try from them?

I have tried every type of nappies and Huggies are the only ones T doesnt leak out of, so I bulk buy on special

I haven't tried them BS but good idea - I'll have a look into some samples.

I tried to get a sample of the Baby Supreme Day/night nappies from the Nappy Store but I never received them. They only sell them in the 120 packs so I didn't want to buy a whole lot without a test first. I tested the Small size and they were great but want to test the Mediums.

Write a letter and send the faulty nappy plus the packaging back to treasures and then will send you a replacement pack. We use to use treasures ultra for X at nighttime but had too many faulty nappies, plus he started to get really bad nappy rash from them. So we have swapped to Huggies for our night nappy and we use Homebrand from woolworths for daytime use. Homebrand rock and they are only $4.46 a pack.
