Topic: Phil and Teds.. Vibe or sport Posted: 12 May 2008 at 9:53am |
We are going to buy a Phil and Teds double buggy so we can use it now for Neosha and then as a double for when another one comes along but I cant make up my mind whether I like the sport or the new vibe. Is there any differences apart from the look? WE are laybying online so I cant ask a sales assistant. The Vibe is a couple of hundred more expensive but one lady that reviewed them said that the vibe was much smoother than the sport and more comfortable to push. If anyone has one let me know

Do they have them at smith city?? I didnt even know! Im so going in tomorow, hope they have the Vibe in already seeing as the have only just been released. What do u have? The dash or classic? I cant get over how the prices range, one site was selling the double sport for $729 and another was $899

Have a look at strollersandprams.com on the forums - think they had a big discussion going about the pros and cons of the new Phil & Teds.

Just my 2 cents worth on the Sports version
I borrowed a P&T Sport (single) at the weekend and have to say I was disappointed (we were looking at getting one with the double seat for when #2 came along). I thought the handling was poor especially going up and down curbs - Caitlin's not a big kid either (11kg at the most).
We won't be getting one after our experience and would definitely advise that you borrow one from a friend or something for the weekend and give it a good go before buying

I was going to get the sport, but when I was in the store and saw the Dash I was totally sold on that one and ordered it, there are heaps of improvements over the sport.

Really Jess? That sucks!! I love our P&T, buts its the e3v2, the model before the sport, so have no idea if the sport is the same to fold down ect as our one!

I LOVE my sport.
I think its easy to fold down and put up and fits so well in my tiny boot.
I have no other buggy to compare it to tho!
I have pushed a friends mountain buggy and found that heavy and wide compated to the P&T.

Oh yeah thats a good point about the lack of locking together Jess. If you dont hold it pro[erly on both sides when u getting it in or out the car its a pain!

But yes i do like it and its comfy for Ella to |
R u SURE? I wouldnt like my pram if it was abusing me
The one I have now has the same problem, no latch for when its closed OH WELL lol. I really dont want to go to a mountain buggy because I wouldnt use it until another baby was born, the doubles are *huge* and would annoy heck out of me and it would cost more. So I just think p&t is a good idea but it seems like people either love them or hate them!

When you have a huge belly its really hard to use. I wish it had an easy locking thing so that at least if you pulled it out it wouldn't try to open on its own! |
That was a great thing I found about the Dash, it automatically locks itself when you put it down!!!

The Sport does have a strap to lock it, I never use the one on mine but I have done when we've been travelling.
The only thing I don't like about it atm is that getting a gremlin into the toddler seat and strapped in is a PITA with a big belly, you have to bend down which isn't really working for me atm lol, and the same to get the toddler seat off again.

Kool, so it does come with a strap then. *bonus* Abusive buggy problem is no longer

If you go the the P&T website you can getsome hinge cover things that stop you getting fingers caught etc. These are free.
I have been watching the reviews on the stoller and prams forum www.strollersandprams.com and quite a few people have had issues with the handle bar on the dash breaking.
Also the seat depth in the vibe is a lot less than the other models.
