Topic: 2nd Birthday present ideas Posted: 16 May 2008 at 3:21pm |
Its Ashleigh's 2nd birthday next month and I'm a bit stumped on what to get her. Well actually there are heaps of toys etc that I could get but I like the idea of getting her something a bit special for each birthday. We thought about a trampoline but they are quite expensive - plus DH is being picky and as we are about to start building a house, is all worried about how we would grow a lawn with a tramp there Have also thought maybe a nice dolls house?
Just wondering what were the "hit" presents for your 2yo??

I cant remember what we gave Zaara for her 2nd birthday...hmmmm.....I think we got loads of small things for her.
But she got given one of those baby pony toys with a toy gym etc....she never plays with it...and they are damn expensive.
She got given one of those digital dancing stereo learing DJ thingies (again expensive)...seldom plays with it.
We bought a Disney Jumpy castle thingie for her when she was 18 month old but only got it blown up for her birthday and she loved it!!! My parents got her a cubby house and she likes it but when the weather is crap she cant play in it.
Its hard to say!!! Sorry I am no help! LOL

McKayla's second birthday she got another charm for her bracelet. Each year we get another charm that is added to her bracelet.
She got a personalised book of Pooh bear (whole party was pooh and she was pooh mad).
Got her a whole nursery set with a swing ect and she absolutely loves it and still plays with it. Got a doll that could wee and just adore Amy.
She got a ton of books as she just loves reading. Puzzles and she loves playing with those always been a problem solving child.
She got an interactive laptop from SA (pooh bear one) and only started getting into it now.
How about giving her a few small things and then something like a bracelet or piece of jewelry that she can keep forever?

The jewellery idea is cool!! Brenna was given a charm bracelet by my mums best friend when she was born then for her 1st b-day she gave her a charm and so I guess the tradition will continue.
Do you want something for Ash to play with now? Or more a keepsake for the future?? I still think a tramp would be great (tell L to not be so fussy about the lawn, lol) but a charm bracelet is a more ongoing keepsake that she can wear on special occasions.
Best of luck for finding the right pressie - how amazing that your 'baby' is nearly 2!! Time goes so fast

Stop it, stop it, stop it! She's not allowed to be two! That happened way too fast!
Maya has a charm bracelet I bought her on her second birthday and I add a charm to it each year.

Arghhh I know!!! But she is at a lovely age at the moment and has us in hysterics most of the time so I'll forgive her for growing up fast (As long as she doesn't start the 'terrible 2's tantrums' that we have been very lucky to avoid so far lol)
The jewellery idea is really cool - although she was given a nice engraved ID bracelet when she was born... and now she just takes it off if I put it on her so I'm scared she is going to lose it
And yeah the tramp is probably just a bit expensive at the moment as we are saving every penny for the house :)
