OK, so I know what I should and shouldn't be eating in these early stages of pregnancy, but in regards to leftovers... are they ok to eat?

I am making a rather large Shepherd's Pie tonight for dinner... and was hoping to have it for lunch and/or dinner again tomorrow night too.... is it ok if it is heated to piping hot... or do I avoid it altogether??

Any advice is appreciated at this point.

I think they are ok as long as they haven't been in the fridge more than three days and they are piping hot when you serve. Although if you wanted to be extra cautious it would be best to avoid altogether.

I'm pretty sure my Food Safety authority booklet says as long as you refrigerate well and then heat really really well you are fine. I've eaten leftovers from dinners the night before (or frozen) and just make sure I heat them up well in the microwave first. I have been a little bit anal with food and have avoided any leftovers I'm not convinced about - rice and chicken are the things I'm most careful about. I would have thought that you were fairly safe with well heated shepherds pie.

Yup, safe as long as it's heated till piping hot. I often have leftovers for lunch.

I would eat it, I ate left overs all the time during pregnancy!

Yum, enjoy it!
