thanks everyone. I hope to meet some great people in same boat in here.....
we have been trying since Dec when I came off the Pill but no luck yet. My cycles have gone from a very set 28 day one to last month being about 35 days and this month being 24 days so I am not happy and now more confused than ever before.

My cycle was like clockwork before I went on the pill (albeit not without *other* issues), and then because I'd been on it for so long (the Depo) shot... it took over a year for my period to come back at all, THEN was all over the place. We were anticipating a major struggle with our fertility, and were prepared to start testing and see a specialist - then TA DA ! Surprise ! Anyway, you've definitely come to the right place for lots of good advice and support, I'll be sending lots and lots of baby dust your way.

you could try taking your temperature, or buy some ovulation predicter kits from trade me (or pharmacy but trade me is cheaper). This will tell youwhen you are ovulating and when is the best time to baby dance. We have been trying for 2 months now and hoping it comes easy for us but am a little aprehensive that we will have problems

we are thinking we will make doctors appointment for next week as now has been four months and nothing as with our ages we want to push it as much as possible.
Had hoped not to have to temp etc but probably will look at doing that.
Baby dust to you all.....

Heya welcome, i think they make you wait 6 months for when your older if you havent already been diagnosed with an infertility problem. Sometimes its even 1 year.
Good luck to ya

Hi Narsha,
I wouldn't worry too much at this stage - the stat for falling pregnancy in the first 6 months of trying is only 60%, and 75% within 9 months. The chance for falling pregnant each month is only something like 20%. My cycles were all over the place too when I came off the pill - the first was 47 days, the second 31 ...then 26 ...then 30. Also, if you were on a combination pill, they control your cycles so that they are 28 days. It wouldn't be a bad idea to try temping for a couple of months before going to the doctor, as that's likely all they will suggest you do first off. I was reluctant to temp as well, but started for cycle 9 as I wanted to make sure I was actually ovulating. I ended up quite enjoying doing my chart, and seeing how it looked day by day, and felt an enormous sense of relief that it looked exactly as it should!
Good luck and keep us posted

Hi
My name is Mel & am new to this site. Hubby and I have been TTC now for over 18 months off to specialist for second time in two weeks. Am currently on day 32 of a 27 day cycle, keep getting usual feelings of period arriving but nothing. Have done three tests, two different types - 2 x cheap came out neg but other came out as a barely there positive - any advice on what to do next?
Mel

Will look into getting that done, probably a cheaper option than continually forking out $$ for tests.
Does anyone know if there is a difference between any of the tests - cheaper vs more expensive, do they test for the same amount of HCG?

Hi there! I don't know if there is any difference, but it actually seems quite common for some women's HCG levels to reach a level that the HPTs pick up. Someone (I can't remember ) said recently in here that they didn't get a positive HPT until they were in month 2 of their pregnancy!
Go to the doctor, and the very best of luck! I know what the wait is like, and I really, really hope that you have good news coming your way!!

i thinmk the levels of test vary quite a bit some test arent that great to use for example i had an HCG level at 14dpo of 270 and the line was sooooo faint on a test.

You're just going to have to take my word for it on this one, but I used one of the 'dip strips' (had to pee in a cup then stick the HPT in it), and the line was REALLY dark... but coz I'm such a geek I went out and bought a POAS proper one (Clear Blue I think), and the line was pretty faint, *there* of course, but faint. Good luck !

It's me, Simmone, who doesn't get a +ve result until well into the pregnancy...
With Josiah I didn't get a +ve result until my period was 13 days late (5/6 weeks pregnant)... this time, I didn't get a +ve result until I was 9.5 weeks pregnant!
