When you get Braxton Hicks do you normally get dull period pains and do they peak?

My stomach muscles have been hardening which I am assuming were braxton hicks. I noticed that I was getting a very dull low key period pain when they were at their tightest and feeling a little nauseous. As the hardening relaxed so did the pain and bubs moved again.

Most probably BH, but keep an eye on it. My BH felt like that when I was about 38 weeks, they later decided that they were actually contractions. A good way to tell is if you have a shower or bath, BH will normally stop whereas contractions shouldn't (and sometimes get worse).

Hi
My bh (wich ive been getting for about 3-4mths now started out as just the period pain and its only in the last month or so that they have been tightning aswell. Ive been told its just your bodys way of preparing itself and that everyone works differently. But I would keep an eye on them though because it must meen that things are starting to get close for you. (Although I hate to tell you but Ive been telling myself that for the last month and am now 5 days over!
Hope that helps :)

Hope it happens soon for you.

My little one is under strict instructions he's not allowed out until his dad is back in the country which is about 10 days away!

Joelle, that's exaclty what my BH with Vincent were from bout 25 weeks, and they are what i am getting now altho stronger. M/w reckons i could haev it for rest of preggy if stil there next week. She got BH at 16weeks with her 3rd kid, and they didn't go away. It is your body toning itself and practising. Nothin to be worried about unless they are lasting between 60-90 seconds & are at regular intervals for a couplke of horus (i think it is) or there is bleeding or your waters break.

Thanks - mine were only lasting about 20-30 seconds and I've been getting them very irregular since.

So not thinking about them now and having a lazy day as getting over a cold and not much sleep as got woken about 5.15! Good reason though - friend txt'd to say waters had broken!

Hi

With my last pregnancy I got BH's thru out most of my pregnancy but from about 38 weeks they become stronger, any way I was 2 days overdue & MW told me to go in for CTG monitoring & she askd if I wanted a S&S I agreed so when she was doing it she discovered I was 5cm Dialated I did end up going into labour after the S&S & had baby after 2 hours, so in a way my BH's really helped me out & done half of the work over the weeks painlessly. Im hoping it happens again this time...
