Topic: Mountain Buggy DBL Posted: 26 June 2008 at 8:22am |
Who loves them and who hates them? They seem incredibly huge to me, more for a 2yr old and new born
Im putting money on a Phil and Teds ATM but mmmm I don't know just want to check all the options, I wanted the Kolcraft Tandem but they are unavailable outside the US now and DP doesn't like the Phil and Teds idea either (not that it will stop me buying one )
So yeah are they THAT much of a pain getting through shops? Which is better for down on the beach and stuff?
Just out of interest....

I would imagine the mountain buggy would be alot better for on the beach, as it's more spread out, and the phil & teds is more weight over a smaller surface, so might sink more in the sand?

I read on the mountain buggy website (www.moutainbuggy.com) that the double is only 5.5cm wider than the single.

I never had a double Mountain Buggy, I had a double Babylove and it was a PITA coz it was so big and hard to manouevre in small spaces, but a lot of the mums at Multiple Birth Club have the MB and swear by it and from memory it is the narrowest of the twin side by side buggys.
One thing to note tho, the carrycot for the single doesn't fit the double, if you want to use a carrycot with it you have to have a separate one coz it is slightly narrower than the single carrycot.

I love my dbl MB. It's only marginally wider than the single so I find it no problems getting through doorways & around shops.
There are some doorways that are narrower than the standard but 99% of the time it's fine.
Emma, does that mean they have another single carrycot for the double buggies? One their website it says that the small carrycot can be fitted to the double buggy.

Hmm, I don't know? I just know that in the info we got from MB at the new parent evening they said you can't use the standard carrycot on the twin buggy? Will check it out!

LOL now I'm just confused! It does look like the same carrycot fits on both, I'm just sure we were told it didn't. Ignore me!

Hmmmm, DP wants one that we can take sort of like off roading, that sounds lame but in summer we spend our family time at the beach and going for walks in parks and stuff and our first Bertini was good for that but this one isn't.
Might look more into MB now that you say it isn't as wide as I thought..... I don't know, I had my heart set on Phil and Teds though.
You cant use an infant capsule with a double MB can you??

I think that you can use a capsule with the MB, you just have to get the car seat attachement, think its says it on their website.
