Very bad breath in your child can sometimes be a symptom of....

intestinal worms!!!

along with dark circles under eyes, constant desire for food, restlesness at night with bad dreams, anaemia and headaches.

the good news tho is there are some things that we all have in the home that can get rid of these nasty buggers too...

like for instance garlic, or grated carrot; apparently carrot is offensive to all parasites, pumpkin, papaya, coconut... One tablespoon daily of 1 part apple cider vinegar and 2 parts apple juice is effective apparently too.

so there you have it... the good and the bad about those horrible things. oh and my mother (old wives tale coming up here ) used to say that picking your nose all the time was a sign of worms too!

oooh thanks for that deb.

one of my girls has a few of those symptoms, she had real stinky breath last week and we asked the doc about it and she said nothing. she also has real dark circles under her eyes... might pay to de-worm the family! lol.

wow the stuff you learn here on ohbaby

Oooo thanks for the 'natural' remedies! I'm always paranoid about worms with the girls but its good to know there are non-drug ways of keeping them at bay. Not that I think they've ever actually had a problem with them. Just one of the many weird paranoias I have

check your kiddies noses too!!!!

we see it all the time at work when kiddies come in for bad breath., food gets sneezed into the nasal cavity, or little fingers fush things up there
weve seen rasins, peas, peanuts, lollies all kinds of things and they start to swell and really really stink!
