Topic: Black bags under eyes Posted: 21 July 2008 at 11:01am |
My daughter (21 months) sometimes has black bags under her eyes & quite noticeable, could this be a deficiency of some sort? She has good meals etc, maybe she could be lacking in some vitamins?
She is not well at the moment so they are more noticeable but even when she is well & not tired she has them at times.
I am taking her to the doctors so will ask our GP.

Low iron can cause it, or she might just be naturally darker under her eyes (I am)

Quinn had very bad black bags and the doctor said it was another symptom of his allergies. I'd say check with the doctor.

Get her iron checked it may not be low, my brother and i both have hemachromatosis which means our iron is too high! He has to give blood to take some of the iron away and now ill have to. we both dont eat too much red meat and he cant drink much beer. We both have wicked black under our eyes took them a wee while to figure it out.

It can also be related to your kidney's, my sister and I have them real bad... it's quite common amongst our family.

and... just to add to the list!!
when we took our daughter to the docs recently when she was fighting off a nasty flu, the doc mentioned that it ws her body fighting the bugs causing them, she doesnt get sick much (like me), her body sends everything it can to attack the bug which is why she had such dark circles, or something along those lines! lol. apparantly both my daughter and i have good immmunities.
goodluck hope that your daughter is ok

I don't think it's usually a problem, other than iron deficiency, but certainly worth raising at your next GP visit.
