I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this method of pain relief and what their experiences were. And to inform everyone else of a great way to birth!
I found out about it with my first boy 2 weeks before giving birth but i got alot out of Hypnobirthing.
Due to low platelet levels, pain relief was out of the question so i tried Hypnobirthing.
I had an amazing labour, very relaxed and easy. The
actual birth wasnt so fun, because i hadn't practiced enough and my midwife didnt understand that she wasnt to interfere and told me to push (your supposed to breath the baby down, this works so much better). When you are hypnotized you are very susceptible to suggestion so make sure everyone supports your decision
The fact that i had a 9lb 10 baby didnt help either.
When i found out about number 2 i wanted to really test it so i practised early, got my partner involved and informed my midwife better.
It was magical. 3 hours in total, only 5 natural pushes (your body does it for you while your breathing) and she was another hefty 9lb 2 baby! The midwives were in awe.
I seriously recommend this to anyone searching for a different way of controlling the discomfort of labour. It brings you closer to your unborn baby and makes your partner an integral part of the birth.
