seeing how helpful you all were on the 80s kids tv show in other thread....see if you can help me with this one...
old black and white movie i recall seeing and it has driven me nuts ever since
-dontthink it was shirley temple but very similar
-girls orphanage (NOT annie!!!)
-there was a shoe box of belongings and it was named for the wrong girl
seriously choccie fish for anyone who can give me the name of the film...and who was in it....I thought for years it was shirley temple but cannot find it as one of her movies at all....

OK, 'A Little Princess' is the book I was thinking of, don't think it is the one you were looking for though ... sorry!

not the little princess im afraid....that was shirley temple too...
i recall the shoebox as being pivotal and think it might have been that they identified her to adopt her by a family or her famiy membbrs by what was in the box?
this has driven me nuts for years....

I think the actress was Sybil Jason, she was around the same time as Shirley Temple.
