Soph has rceently started having a few teaspoons of food and sucking on a banana in one of those feeder things ( I love those!!). Shes also started drinking a little more formula in her one bottle she has at bedtime.

All this combimed has given her hard pebble like poo's, which take some straining to get out. Ben was the same and used to poo in the warm bath... I was wondering if theres anyhting I can give her to help her out! She too young for prune juice or anything like that I'm guessing

Thanks ladies

banana can constipate some babies... and if you heavily diluted the prune juice you could give it to her...

Yep I would lay off the banana too. You could grate carrot or apple to put in the feeder for her to suck. You can mix prune juice into puree apple, or buy the apple and prune 4 month plus watties jars. Or soak a prune in a little bit of boiling water then push it through a seive and mix a tiny bit with her food.

I was gonna suggest the apple and prune jars too.

It's normal for babies to get constipated when they first start solids, it should settle within a few days as her system adjusts.

Banana is one of the hardest foods for the body to digest so I'd suggest stopping that.

Diluted apple juice works too or simply offer baby water to drink between feeds.
