Topic: 3 miscarriages in a row Posted: 27 August 2008 at 1:16pm |
I am currently experiencing my 3rd m/c in 8 months. First one at 10 wks, had D&C. 2nd m/c at 5wks and currently 3rd m/c at a couple of weeks. I do have a large amount of caffinne - is this a problem?
Any advice from anyone having 3 m/c and what happens next. I am devestated!
Thanks,

Hi Charlie
I'm so sorry to hear of your losses.
My sister had 3 miscarraiges in a row after her first son was born. She was told by the specialist not to TTC for a year and they also started doing test to discover why she was miscarrying. They discovered endometriosis she had the operation to have this removed and has since had 2 more sons with no more problems.
I can't imagine the heartbreak that you must be feeling and I hope that the specialists can find a simple solution for you.

That is really sad, you should talk to your dr about going to see a specialist to see why it is happening (althou most times they can't answer that why question). Most times if you have 3 in a row you can go to the reoccuring M/C clinic, but I don't know where you are so not sure if they would have one.

I am in auckland and have a specialist at FA. I have to have a blood test today having spoken with specialist this morning. He is then away for 3 weeks so I cannot follow up till the end of Sept. This just seems soo long away and I am just trying to find out as much info as I can first....

Oh Charlie, I am so sorry, you have has so much heartache.
I would suggest cutting down on the caffiene going forward, but I do not believe this contributed to your mc's hun.
Think about the babies concieved after a massive binge drinking session... that go onto be healthy bubs.
I hope your specialist can have you see someone while they are aware... even if only to answer all your questions.
Good luck.
