What does this sound like?

DS seems to be getting very distressed and upset but I"m not sure whats causing it.
I'll feed him when he's hungry then burp him and as I'm burping him he'll scream silent screams (assuming this means wind). Eventually he'll start a really scream as he arches his back and stands up making it nearly impossible to burp him. He eventually drifts of for a few minutes then its like the pain comes back and he arches his back and cries again. Is this wind?
Is he hungry? He seems to be wanting to suck on everything but when given the breast will have a short feed and be satified but for only an hour and a half or so before he wants another go.
Some days he's really settled and wonderful other days he's like this. Is it something I'm eating?? Can't see anything out of the ordinary in my diet though.
Sorry long post I guess I just feel bad for him because he is tired and I'm sick and both of us are just not having a good day.

When Caden was your babys age he did the same thing and I thought it was bad wind so I would try burping him over and over again and he just wouldnt settle.
Turns out he was still hungry, thats why he was getting so upset cos he was trying to tell me he wanted more milk.

I actually called my midwife cos I was so stressed, and when she came out the next day he did it in front of her and she said it was a hungry cry.
So i would try feeidng him again, I would feed caden until he had that milk drugged thing going on, Id burp him then pop him to bed and he was fine after that.

I really thought his cry was a im in pain one but he wasnt it was a Im bloody hungry one lol.

When babys have wind they generally pull their legs up, caden will pull one leg up at a time and really fast and he will have tears in his eyes when he crys, when he is hungry he will just SCREAM and go red and arch his back and try to stand up but has no tears and he sort of makes a "ahh laa ahh laaa" sound.

you will gradually pick on your bubs different crys and it takes a while but listen out when he crys and see if u can pick up on the different crys
i find it helps me a lot to figure out whats wrong and what he wants.

I do one sided feeding coz I found lil miss wasn't getting enough of the hind milk. It only really works if you have a decent supply tho, otherwise it can play havoc with it as it means if you are feeding 3 hourly each breast is only getting emptied every 6 hours.

My m/w always said you shouldn't feed bub more than 2-hourly (as in 2 hours from start of feed to start of feed) as any shorter than that you run the risk of them snack feeding and never getting completely full. Chiara went thru a stage of wanting to feed every hour-hour and a half so I tried resettling her by patting/rocking her and it worked long enough to get us past the two hours and then she'd have a better feed.

If he wants to suck but not feed you could try a dummy, I know some people are quite anti them but even if you only use it for a few days/weeks and only while he's awake and unsettled it might help by giving him something else to suck on.

You could also try Infacol if you think wind is the problem, a lot of people find it works really well.

Infacol is great, ever since Ive been putting it in Cadens bottles he hasnt had really bad wind except maybe once or twice.

Oh good. The next thing you will learn is how to lie down and rest while he feeds off you!

Oh yay thats great he he doing better, i thought it sounded like he was still hungry cos thats what caden was like.
