Topic: Maternity swimwear...? Posted: 05 September 2008 at 9:01am |
Where do you go to get maternity swimwear? I really want to go swimming, but my bump and boobs are getting too big for 'conventional' swimwear !!

I just bought shorts and a swim T-shirt from one of the sports shops. Although I should have bought a bigger T-shirt as it doesn't entirely cover my bump any more, but i'm gonna just start wearing a bikini top and my shorts soon, I don't care who sees my bump.
Egg sell maternity swimwear but you would probably have to sell all your wordly possessions to afford one

All I did was buy some much larger tankini so it fitted my boobs and my butt/bump and then wore a long singlet top over top to cover my bump properly

Morning, I got some great swim togs from JK Kids, and even better they were on sale for about $30.
The top is really long, I don't really like the pants but they'll do for them amount of time i'm going to wear them!

jk sells then and PP maternmity will get some in soon, with their summer stuff. It's hard though, cuz anything you buy now won't fit when you're heaps pregnant. I ended up just going in a bikin and boardies!!! (and im 39 weeks pregnant!) thats what Im wearing today. Oh I pitty the people at pioneer pool lol having to see my massive bump!
My advice would be to go find a style you like at JK or egg, then pop on trademe to try find them. That was the plan with me and they're much cheaper on trademe.

I also bought a two piece from the JK website. I bought them at about 20 weeks pregnant, and they still fit now, so they were a good buy.
Here's a link to the pair I got, but they only have XS left.

Hmmm, don't think XS will fit me
I do proper swimming too, so they need to fit well, otherwise they just drag you down. Thanks for the replies.

I just had to do an emergancy swimwear mish, as will be swimming tomorrow. Went to the warehouse and got a larger size tankini type top and bottoms for 35 bux. Tops really nice, large cups with padding and its longish too. Not bad for cheap nasty stuff and for how much use it will get.

I have two. Once is a two-piece "set" but in reality the top is a couple of sizes lower than the bottoms.
The best togs I have (which still fits me when I am not pg ) is some maternity togs which I bought off TM, they originate from the UK but were only worn once.

Egg have lovely ones.
They are expensive but if you are in the water alot I would suggest going there.
I will be purchasing some soon as I am off to Dad's (Queensland for Christmas) I will want to spend all my time in the pool.

I got a pair from the Warehouse actually. They were the best ones I'd seen with a shelf bra inside and feel sturdy enough that I (hopefully) won't 'expose' too much of myself once in the water!
