Topic: did daylight savings affect your child Posted: 29 September 2008 at 7:17am |
We thought that we would have problems, but Rhiannon went down at her usual time of 5.45pm and slept through to 6.30am...which is her usual time. (we have just spent 2 wks getting her to this routine and are hoping that daylight savings wont ruin it)

My little one has been waking up at 630 for the last several weeks, so now it's 730 and thats nice! We just didn't put her down for a nap yesterday and she went to bed at the normal time and has just woken up, was very easy.

No worries in our household at all although we did start adjusting her routine slightly each day from Friday so that it would fit in with the daylight savings hours.

Rhiannon doesnt sleep during the day, so was surprised she went down at her usual time because for her body that would have been an hour earlier than usual.
oh well fingers crossed that she does it again tonight, which i suspect she will

No major issues here either. Tom didnt sleep at hismorning sleep....just rested but had a marathon 3 hr afternoon sleep. Thought that might muck him up so we were going to keep him up 30min later than usual but by 6.30 he was rubbing his eyes so he was off at 7pm. He did babble to himself for quite a while but thats not a biggie. Slept through till 7.30. Great....its been 6am lately.

No, no problems here at all. Me on the other hand! I can't cope with DLS at all. It will take me probably another couple of days to settle in.

Caleb was hypo at about 9.30 last night. I tried putting him in bed with me to settle him and he kept climbing across the bed onto the bedside table then standing on the edge of the bed jumping on me, giving me a quick cuddle then off again. He did this about 20 times! I just wanted to go to sleep.
Eventually when his Dad was putting him into his sleeping bag he slipped, banged his head, came to me for a cuddle and fell asleep in my arms. It was almost 10 o'clock by then. Hopefully tonight goes a bit better.
I'm not sure how he stayed up this long. We took him swimming in the morning and he only slept for one hour all day. He must've been up for about 15 hours!

I am so glad DLS is finally here! Gabz is an early waker (5:30-6:30ish every day) so this morn when she didn't wake up till 7 am was quite nice! Although that meant we slept in too cos she's our alarm clock hehe :) Who can complain at a sleep in?
Yep looks like it will be harder for us big people to adjust!

Keziah has been going to bed between 7 and 7.30 and sleeping in to her usual time so it hasn't really bothered her at all... Although she's been sleeping more during the day (2.5 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon)

Pretty easy in our house too. Just slightly later to bed, about 30 mins last night. But other than that, not much of a problem.

No probs here, Jake just carried on as normal (but he had been getting up waaay earlier than usual for a while now, so now he's back to normal)
Charly protests at bedtime and has been going a bit later than usual, but thats normal for her as well, plus her afternnon naps have dragged out a bit more than usual, so thats probably more why the bedtime protests than D/S
However, I have been goign to bed at normal time (10 10.30 clock time) but am strugglig with the mornng s a bit, even though theoretically I'm going to bed earlier? dumb.

It sure effected Ella... in a great way! She'd been waking early as the season changed so now it's great - she's 'sleeping in', kinda. This morning she was up at 8.30... I think she's done that once before? Love it.

Well my miss Contrary is going to bed earlier and waking up earlier!?!?
She is now waking at 11pm instead of 1am to start her nightly play and banter meaning I get no sleep before she wakes now!
She is also waking earlier since daylight savings...go figure.

Joshua is going to bed a bit later, about 7.45pm, and waking at 7.00am. Not too bad really
Nice having him up a bit longer in the evenings

I did effect my boys as we came back from Oz 2 days before so had to adjust to that and then to DLS. I think they are ok now.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Nope not here. My boys are still going to bed around 6pm and waking around 7am. Only took a couple of days to get used to the change (and I had 2 days of 8am wake ups!!!!!)
