As I probably haven't mentioned before, my DP has gone over to Perth to work in the mines, doing fly in, fly out, four weeks on, one week off.   He is hoping to come back after every four weeks, and if not then every eight weeks!! And on top of that we are TTC #2, which is a bit hard when he is overseas. The money is really good though and his debt was absolutely crippling us.   He starts his first four weeks on next friday, and he's been gone three weeks already, so it will be a while before we see him again.

Anyway, he's been staying with his cousin over there while looking for work and last night their house was broken into and his laptop was stolen!    He's run out of money and won't have any till he is paid for his first lot of work, so we pretty much have no way of contacting him unless I call him, and I can't afford to make calls to Australia all the time.

So yeah, he's down in the dumps, and all of his photos of Sam are gone!

Awww stink that really sucks. Can they not claim insurance on it??

But I hear you on the not seeing the other half. Since Augest we have seen Nigel a grand total of 8 days, and he is off again on another exercise tomorrow for 3 odd weeks.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Awww that just sucks!! Im so paranoid about something happening to my laptop becuase of photos, it just takes a hideous person to steal other peoples memories away like that!!

just look for the light at the end off the tunnel, when he's done you will be debt free and can have him all to yourself again.

That really does suck. I'm sorry to hear that.

Do you have broadband yourself? If so, download skype (google it), and use that to make the calls. You call to other computers free, but obviously that isn't going to help you now. But you can add credit to your skype account and make really cheap calls to real phones anywhere in the world.

DH and I are halfway through 5 months apart, and its been hugely helpful for us.

I hope you get the debt paid off soon so he can come home for good!

I have the same thing as Liz and I love it.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
