What a JOKE!! i am so not happy.... AirNZ needs to get a better site...
I sat here almost all day watching for the flights i wanted to come up---- Didnt get any - didn't matter i clicked it as soon as they came avaiable - i have broadband - i quickly selected my dates and how many people --- then the fun (not!) begins - i wait and wait and wait for Stupid airNZ site to load the days so i can click them - AGAIN! and what happens by the time the bl##dy thing does load - all the dates are gone - except for so stupid random dates (I got one that flew out on the 20th but could only get flying back in on the 19th - thats not gunna work!!!0
So as you might of got the message - I am P ..... off - grrrr what a wait of my time today!
Jetstar were just as bad today too....I went through the whole booking process and entered all our info twice only to be told that the seats had gone. I finally got some tickets at a pretty good price though - so am happy! Had to play around with the dates a lot though!
It would help if AirNZ staff were not allowed to buy the seats on grab-a-seat on work computers since they have a dedicated server which gets preference. That really bugs me.
But yes, they need to upgrade to make it handle much larger volumes of traffic.
Edit: Paws just to let you know that wasn't directed at you - I imagine you're far too busy to get the seats anyway. Just I know some people in the head office......

REALLY???? that is pretty bad!
Ummmmm actually we miss out all the time....and that's even with sitting there and obsessively pressing refresh! So no...not perk of the job....half the time our staff travel is still cheaper and more convenient. No perks there.
The only people I know who got seats today were all non staff!

Hehehe that's fine. Head office *might* have a shot...the rest of us usually miss out though! I've ever nabbed some once! And that was when it wasn't a super special and it was my third time trying to get suitable dates...seats kept selling from under me!
Meh - as I say, our staff travel is just as good price wise normally as the normal grab a seats, just that it's standby for the lowest price so you have to sweat until the plane takes off (until then you could get offloaded even sitting on the plane to make room for a paying passenger and yes it has happened to staff!!!)
I'm just waiting for some grab a seat flights to come up to Dunedin or Christchurch between Christmas and the 3rd Jan!....otherwise I can't make it to my besties wedding!!....doesn't help she only sent our invites last month and it'll take me a while to save up!!.
They should hold the tickets you select for at least 1-2 minutes (a bit like when you do ticketek) to give you a chance to enter your details... and if you dont do it within that time then they get released
