Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for ways of making income from home. We live rurally in Southland, NZ and my partner works long hours so Im looking after bub all the time but really wanting something to do to suppliment our income. Im sick of searching on Google and only getting 'get rich quick schemes' come up.

I work from home as a nail technician and have found it takes a lot of dedication and hard work....as obviously I have to find my own clients.

I'm not too sure what you could do in a rural area though. I was going to suggest google until I read more lol

What are your interests...is there any way you could expand on that?

I have seen alot of adverts in the past about working from home with computers, but I personally haven't looked into them.

Most of the working from home with computers involves writing similar ads to the one you're responding to, and sending out "info kits", etc. Usually there's a cost to sign up - from what I understand it's a glorified pyramid scheme.

There's the options of party sales... avon / tupperware / enjo / etc.... but I know that doesn't appeal to all people.

Are you in/around a small community at all? Perhaps you could look after an extra child or two as in-home childcare to bring in some extra $?

Yeah Ive thought about childcare but we are a fair way out and I start studying again next year so don't really want to put parents out by having to go back to it and leaving them in the lurch.

What about making homemade jewellery and selling it on trademe and via friends? I guess it really depends on what you are into!
