Topic: Arrg - I asked the horrible question Posted: 04 November 2008 at 6:08pm |
and felt like a real dick after I did it. My bosses wife came in to work today and I asked the stupid question "are you feeding him". I knew as soon as I said it I had stuffed up. So I quickly said afterwards "well I know you are feeding him but BF or bottle". She was totally cool with it, but I knew how much it annoyed me when I was asked that stupid question as of course the baby is being fed.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Ha ha, my neighbour asked me the exact same question yesterday, but given that she's in her 80's I didn't feel the need to jump down her throat over it

I thought you asked the "are you pregnant" question and she said "no". I've only done that once - 5 years ago - but I still feel bad!!

Ahahaha - I'm sure she understood... once you'd further clarified....
My mum asks me that all the time about my Hubby. Hmmm she doesn't follow up with 'breast or bottle' though.... LOL

Lol - I thought you were going to say the "Are you pregnant question" too!
That is awful, Ive had it happen to me and it was TERRIBLE, I seriously cried all day!
I would never in a million years ever say it to anyone now ever. One of my best friends when I saw her a while ago, I was thinking to myself it SO looks like your pregnant again but obviously didnt say anything, then about 30 minutes later she told me she was expecting number 2! Soooooo pays to wait!

I've so been tempted to ask friends if they were pregnant... never been brave enough! The three times I've been wanting to ask, I would have been right... but I'm still never going to try it! They can let me know when they want, and it'll avoid that potential moment.
