Ok, can any of you wise women give me any advice on how to get this stubborn little baby moving??? I'm going in on Monday to further discuss induction options but would like to try and get him out before then!! All advice greatly appreciated!

I heard eating a good curry can help apparently stimulates the bowels and gets things going?

i went 10 days overdue with my second and did end up with the induction, as nothing was working for me, but i didnt really try.
-my midwife suggested getting out some funny movies and laughing lots! (didnt work but was fun anyway!)
-eating curry and i even tried the recipe for the eggplant dish that brings on labour in heaps of women in usa...it was yummy too, but again maybe tried to early as it was at 39 weeks.
- walking, apparanty quite good too, but i couldnt get far without getting pooped! haha, waddle waddle!!!!
-and SEX like linelle says, this is the one thing i didnt try but was HIGHLY recomended by midwife i was too embarassed! lol, wish i had given it a go though as the sperm has the same affect as the gel and i was given such a small dose and started labour rolling straight away!!!! if i go over this time i WILL do it!!!! LOTS! haha
ohohoh, and another good one to try is nipple stimulation, i did this a bit and it did get me some contractions but i felt too weird doing it so stopped pretty quickly! lol, man im a wuss!

GOODLUCK!!!!! hope that you can go into labour naturally but if you cant induction isnt so bad (done it twice for me now!)

Orgasam,
Hot bath
Or the one that usually works is getting your midwife to do a sweep. A little uncomfortable at the time (she rubs her fingers around the lip of your cervix) Usually brings things on in the next 24 hours
I also went and saw a massge therapist about things to do to bring on labour.

i told Rod to get drunk as it would be the last time, and no, i was sure i wasn't having baby, as I was booked in for induction on the wed, (he was due a few days later, i had high bp)so, that jinxed it, as Rod got absolutely poleaxed, and I nearly had to drive myself to hospital..

Yeap, I can also recommend and REALLY GOOD LONG WALK.
And I don't mean around the block, I mean a tough walk, up hills and everything!! That should bring it on.

A nice hot bubble bath and talk to baby while you are in there. It may seem weird, but telling your baby that its okay to come out now while in a hot relaxing bath can work.

And ofcourse, sex is another option. Maybe not so comfortable, and I don't think I would want to, but it is an option I guess.

Unfortunately I think you just have to wait Clare!!!!!
All these things could work... or couldn't... just make yourself as comfy as possible. Get hubby to give you lotsa massages.

I found lying with the top part of my body on the couch and legs on a foot stool (with belly hanging down in the gap) took some of the pressure off my back.

Best of luck!!

Maybe you just need to chill out? Go out to a cafe, buy a new bag/makeup, go play minigolf - take your mind off it all and have some fun - you've got a big couple of months coming up, the best thing you can do is have a weekend to remember.
Good luck!
