Topic: My poor bladder!!! Posted: 02 May 2006 at 10:03am |
I know this will only get worse, but i just wanted to check to see that how my bladder is feeling is right for my stage of development - I am peeing all the time (yeah yeah I know - join the club!) but what I was wondering about is that even straight after I pee I feel like my bladder is still full, and a lot of the time I get a sore achy feeling inside my bladder - it's the same feeling you get if you have just gone to the loo but you held it in too long before you went to the loo - if that makes sense...? Except I am not holding it in long, I am peeing all the time...and still it feels like I have held it in too long...(i hope this is all making sense)...so I was wondering is it normal to have that pressure all the time feeling on you bladder at this stage? I thought that after 12 weeks the baby was supposed to move upwards and relieve the pressure on the bladder to a certain extent...?

Well I was going to the loo all the time and you are right it will only get worse. How ever think like this...you tummy is growing and is making space for your baby. All your internal organs are being pushed up and down to accomodate this. So every other organs are pusing on at each other. The other achy feeling...well you could have urine infection....have you checked? I never had it but I hear it is common. Ask your Midwife

Yeah sometimes I get a bit achy after emptying my bladder. But I would get your mw to do a quick urine sample for a bladder infection.

I sometimes get that still full feeling...nothing painful though, it feels more like someone is sitting on my bladder (I wonder who? )

I notice that after I have been for a pee I get a tightening in my belly..not painful though, it's just like a braxton hicks. I mentioned it to my widwife the other day and she said it's probably just my uterus contracting and didn't think there was anything strange about it.

NOt the best person to answer this as I have a delightful pre-existing bladder condition, but I do have the 'still full' feeling after going, and sometimes even get like a stitch pain in my bladder if I hold it too long, even after I empty it. The things our babies do to us!

I told my midwife at my appt today, she said I could have an anterior placenta putting pressure on my baldder or I could have a UTI - so she sent me for some tests just to be sure, they take 2 days to come back so I guess I will know then - I am sure it is just a matter of being all squashed up in there but I am glad she is checking anyway...

that's good that you've been tested for the UTI. at least you will know one way or the other and hopefully something can be done for you
