As you all know we are moving house soon, tomorrow in fact, but since we'll probably have the computers up and running by tomorrow night I'm not even sure if I need to make this post LMAO But yeah, if I do end up disappearing for a couple of days, I might just be extremely knackered and catching up on sleep - but we'll see

Just about everything packed up though, except for the computers and cats, the moving men and truck show up tomorrow at 9am, I think the plan is to get up around 7am so we can sort out last minute stuff... plus my mum and Rols' dad are coming to help us clean once all the furniture has been shifted.

I'm a little sad but more excited, probably because there is a bit of sentimental attachment to this place

PLUS it means I can finally get started on the nursery, yaaaaaaaaaaay !!

Anyway, I will be lurking around for a little bit tonight, and then everything will be unplugged, oh my !

Good luck with the move, Jax! And Becca's orders: no hard cleaning for you!

Catch you online when you're all unpacked... hehehe... or when the computers are set up, which will probably be first!

LOL Yup I will absolutely be taking it easy, and I've told hubby that HE can be the one to run around after the cats trying to catch them in the morning (he insists they will still be hanging around, despite all the commotion..)

Oh, and I also got this absolutely hilarious email from my mum, forwarded on from a chinese friend of hers... I don't think it was her intent to be "ha ha" funny, and I do realise and appreciate her actual intentions (showing she's cares and is concerned)... but this REALLY cracked me up

Hi Trish,

We are Chinese. Chinese traditional if the lady is pregnancy she is not suitable to shift up and down as she is pregnancy. It will affect the baby. She gives instruction to the worker how to shift the stuff only.

Cheers,
Teresa

(Trish being my mum, and Teresa being the friend from Hong Kong)

WOW. We have a new house !! Only a few minor mishaps, and one very knackered husband, but we made it.

The carpet was supposed to be cleaned the day before, but in our 'busyness' we forgot that there wouldn't be any power for them to plug the machine in with Our real estate agent arranged for them to come the next morning with a van that had it's own portable generator to run the shampooing machine on, BUT they came at 10am, we ended up arriving with the big truck and all our furniture just on 11am !! So not to mention the fact that carpet that was nice and clean got dirtied all over again, but it STUNK for hours, which was not nice at all.

Then we got around to unpacking our new bed and putting it together, but poor Rols just about lost the plot completely when we discovered two of the main bolts we needed were missing !! Of course the store wasn't open for us to ring them up and yell at (as we were very tempted to do), and lucky the bed was stable enough to be slept in just this once. I rang them as soon as they opened though, and had the guy who sold us everything get two more bolts couriered out to us. HOWEVER. By 4:30 we hadn't seen hide nor hair of these damn bolts, I rang him back and the story from the courier company was that the driver got "tied up" and would deliver them first thing in the morning.

That's when I spat the dummy !! I said NO !! Same day service is what we paid for, so that is what we WILL get, thank you !! The best bit is that they apparently then said something along the lines of "Ok ok we'll deliver them today but it will be at 5:30"... JUST got hubby to check the letterbox as he is outside hosing the path down, and NOTHING.

LITTLE THINGS, I tell you !!

Anyway, other than that, the kitchen is partly done, and some of the lounge furniture is vaguely where we'd like it to be, plus our new dresser and bedside cabinets are in place. AND of course, we finally got the computer desks together, but more importantly got the computers and internet up and running

OH OH OH ! Best of all though, I got to start sorting out things for the nursery ! It's going to be a little while before it's all finished, but I absolutely promise LOTS of photos when I'm done Had lots of fun trying to put the change table / bath together this morning too LOL

We checked out the nearby shops, and picked up a few groceries from the local supermarket as well - decided that it was too hard to go all the way to Pak N Save and we were "allowed" to splurge just this once

Last but not least, the cats have even settled in fairly well, no major scraps or anything. One of them, Maddy, even managed to sneak outside through a window for a while !! We aren't officially letting them out for at least a couple more days though, and we need to get a cat door installed as well (luckily there is the perfect spot in the laundry room door).

So as knackered as I am, I am absolutely over the moon, it feels pretty surreal but TOTALLY awesome to be here, I have lots of "I can't believe *I* own a house" moments
