Hi, during the last few weeks my skin has become dryer and dryer. I'm putting heaps of cream on, but it keeps feeling like my skin is going to crack. It's especially my neck and cleavage area that are pretty bad.
My skin is also getting more and more itchy.

Has anyone else experienced this in the 3rd tri?
Did you find anything that helped?

Yep, I developed a skin condition that drove me insane, esp cos it kicked in at 39 weeks and stoopid baby didn't arrive for another 2 weeks. Mine was called PUPPP, where your body is thought to get an allergic response to stretchmarks and they get all inflammed.

Aveeno moisturiser was quite good - you can get this from most pharmacies and department stores (and maybe supermarkets). I had baths in pinetarsol (smells vile, sometimes works). I also ended up on hydrocortisone cream. Pharmacists are unlikely to sell it to you over the counter as it is only recommended for use in pregnant women if under medical supervision. The hydrocortisone worked really well.

And the itching went away the day I went in to be induced!

Perhaps try some lemnis fatty cream or aqueous cream - just ask at your pharmacy...

Hey, I have it now at 22 weeks!
My suggestions for a more natural solution: try applying olive oil, or almond oil.... or the Weleda pregnancy oil is beautiful too. All safe.
Also from the inside- try eating raw almonds- they have good omegas and fatty acids in them.... they are a 'complete protein' too, so really good snack. Other good foods are Avocados, flax oil (keep in fridge, dont heat just pour a bit on your dinner- yum, it has a nice nutty flavour), unhulled tahini too- the unhulled stuff has 4x the calcium content!, most 'raw' nuts have good oils in em.... All needed for both you and your baby.

Good luck!
