I've started Ds on solids (he's 5months) and he has taken to it like a duck to water. He opens his mouth wide and swollows barely spilling a drop. Over two weeks I've increased his food to two meals (breakfast and dinner) where he eats about half or maybe a little more of a can (I say about as I cook my own so I'm just guessing that's how much it would be.
I offer him breast first then about 45mins later offer the food he gulps it down (it not runny actually quite thick) then usually within half hour he's looking for a short breast feed before a sleep.
Is this too much food?

My Plunket nurse said be guided by them - they'll let you know if they're hungry or full. I'm amazed at what Daniel can pack away!

Thanks for the quick replies I am feeling real stink about my whole plunket experience today. It good to be able to know that even when plunket can't seem to help you can come on here for advise from people who are actually going through it.

Lol have to laugh at the fact all three of us have Daniels. Its a great name!

LOL yea Plunket are advice but not law, so if you think you know your baby better (and you most likely do!), then let him lead. Sounds like he is eating well - and perhaps even growth spurting (it may settle in a week or so, but if it doesn't, still no prob!)

My daughter has the same eating pattern - Big BF, good feed of solids 10min to half hour later - then another BF before she goes down for a nap. She's more settled on 2 smaller feeds of solids then she was on 1 fairly big one.
