Oh boy.. don't get me started on the weight thing! I weighed myself 4 days after I had Mason and while holding him (I thought that was only fair to get an estimate of how heavy I was at the end of my pregnancy), and I'd gained about 25kgs :( So far I've lost 14 in 11 weeks, which I suppose isn't too bad. 20 more to go until I'm at my goal weight.
Better get that Weight Watchers membership sorted!

I've officially gone on weight watchers online. I didn't need to lose any weight from being pregnant, as needed to lose it before Jake and Taine. Baby weight fell off luckily.
Like you Nikki, I've just gone on the injection. Are you supposed to get a period? I haven't had one in...over two years now! And before anyone thinks "uh oh....deja vu", I had the injection before Lewis came home.

Nah... no bleeding isn't suprising, especially if you hadn't had one for the last two years!!! I had irregular bleeding [read: every couple of days! arghhhh!] but now it has stopped.

I think with the mini pill they can be irregular too.
Though, I'd get regular pregnancy tests Rachael, my midwife told me that the mini pill wouldn't be best for me due to natural fertility (which judging by having a babe so easily, you do too!) so just be aware that it's easier to fall pregnant on mini-pill + being extra fertile. (p.s. I ignored midwife and got pregnant again )
And that's all from Dr Nikki today.

After both pregs I lost all my weight in about 5mths with breastfeeding & general running around being busy. But I was also on that horrible implanon & as soon as i stopped breastfeeding i packed on the kilos - about 5kgs in just 2 weeks! Implanon sux!

I'm too paranoid about getting knocked up again so we use condoms too and we hardly ever have sex

I thought I was paranoid too Used condoms for the requisite 2 weeks (which I have since found out is 7 days) when I accidentally missed the pill and somehow still managed to get preggo. Arghhhhhhhh.
Ah well.
Anyway, just a little horror story for ya.
Maybe Murphy doesn't have it in for you like he does with me.

It's alright Nikki... Murphy has it in for me too!
Kiya: condom baby.
Josiah: planned, and conceived pretty much the first time after we stopped using birth control.
#3: minipill/condom baby (I forgot to take my pills with me on an unexpected weekend away, used condoms inbetween, STILL got knocked up!)

It's funny how similar our situations have been! (Well, actually not married yet and am not planning to have 5 kids... I'm sure there are at least a few things similar)

Hi
Interesting reading. I piled on the wieght with my first (going from 58kgs to 81kgs) - its those mince pies I tell ya - no wonder my son loves them. Took about 8mths to lose doing nothing - I had youth on my side. With my daughter i went from 53kgs to 71kgs back down to 64kgs day after I had her and lost most of the wieght straight away - although I have crohns disease then pretty bad so weight just kept dropping off. Once fixed I have put on a healthy weight gain - although would of liked to be a few Kgs lighter before getting pregnant. So far i have lost 1 kg but i am prepared and not niave that I shall put on at least 10 kgs in pregnancy. I have tried to watch what I am eating as buying savory morning tea isn't great for the waist line (hehe neither is getting pregnant either I guess I shall worry about losing weight after baby born. Going to Uk when baby is about 5 months so would like to have got down to pre pregnancy weight then. Lost of walking over summer and joining the gym again is the plan (we'll see will keep u posted on that one! Best laid plans and all
Also someone mentioned the Inplanon, I was thinking of trying that out as I don't like the idea of the depo (nor the weight gain that goes with it) IUD had one got put in hospital because of it never allowed one again, and PIll well I just have a terrible memory and keep forgetting. What was it like?

I put on 14kg in my pregnancy and have 4kg left to lose. It's that annoying 4kg that means all my pre-pregnancy clothes are too tight and maternity clothes are too big. Add to that ... my partners family ... all the girls are size 10 (including his mum) and they all were in their pre-preg jeans within a week of having their babies! I thought for sure that breastfeeding would help me lose the weight, but it didn't . All my friends told me that after your baby is born your breasts often go up a size. Well, mine are the same size A cups so they didn't get any bigger - can't say the same for my thighs and hips though! Have started walking last week. I live on a hill so it's been particularly excruciating and I have to stop all the time, but I'm determined to shift this saddle and get back into my clothes.

Karin, I don't know how old your babe is, but I found the great way to lose weight is forgetting to eat!
I was so busy taking little bites of Hannah's food all day (once she got past baby mush) that by the time I got round to thinking about food for myself, I wasn't hungry.
Then I lost too much and had to concentrate on eating properly again Amazing how much energy I got back though!!!

I can also relate about 4getting 2 eat, I never seem 2 get lunch b4 3pm & dinners r so chaotic with the kids that it just puts me off my food so I usually dont bother!

Oh my goodness! Now I am depressed! Small boobs and I NEVER forget to eat!!! My little boy has just turned 5 months old so is just starting on food. Also, my partner is a builder so needs to eat big, hearty meals every day. The good news is that I've been walking every day with bubby and since I live on a hill it has been a killer - but I've lost half a kilo!!!! However, I just had a bleat to my partner about him not doing anything around the house and he made me pancakes with cream and maple syrup for breakfast!

Don't worry Karin, by the time you are making 5+ meals a day for your toddler and cooking for hubby too, food for yourself will be the last thing on your mind!!
