Hi, just wanting people's thoughts on pregnancy after having a tube removed.
By way of background, the Doctor's thought I had suffered a miscarriage a few weeks ago. They did a scan, which showed a mass in my right ovary which they weren't convinced was related to the pregnancy. They decided to monitor my HCG levels, which continued to drop - not particularly quickly (but that seems normal for me as I have had an eptopic before which was treated with Methrotrexate and the levels took a while then too). Long story short, things had been proceeding (i thought) relatively normally until last Friday when I suddenly got severe pain in my abdomen. I went to hospital where a scan was done and they discovered that my tube was ruptured. They told me I would need emergency surgery and I was referred on to an awesome surgeon.
I freaked out because I thought my chances of pregnancy would be halved. The surgeon told me, no it wasn't the case at all. I would potentially loose 1-2% fertility as I still had both ovaries. She also said that by leaving the tube in (repairing it), the risk of further eptopics would be far greater because of scar tissue. She did try, but she said it was too badly damaged and she thought it was far healthier for me to have it removed. She said that she checked my ovaries while she was in there and they are both healthy my other tube is fine.
Has anybody been through this or know of someone who has. I know of one other person that had the same thing and went on to have two healthy babies.
Trying to be postive but I am a worrier
