Topic: Licences Posted: 24 January 2009 at 8:40pm |
If given the chance would you get all the drivers licences you could as the only charge you have is the actual licence fee ($40 odd I think)??
At work I have been asked to pick up the driver training wings admin work (got some extra money to go with it too ), when I went over with the Major they told me next week I will be getting my bike and truck learners. I told some people I was getting them and they told me it was a waste of time .
So would you get them too if it as free???

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Hell yes. The HT is great especially if you have to move house - or help other people.

Yep I'd do it. DH has his forklift licence and it's just another thing he can pull out on a rainy day.

Personally I wouldn't, but I'm not interested in riding a motorbike or driving a truck.
But if you're keen, stuff what other people say - do it. Isn't it really hard to get an HT licence now and really expensive? If so you'd probably never get a better opportunity.

I would do it especially if its cheap HT is expensive and DP is kicking himself for not staying a little longer at his last job and doing his in the end i think the more qualifications and licenses you have the more jobs you can apply for if the recession hits you

Yep I would, if you plan on using them at some point. HT is handy, don't know about the motorbike one unless you're actually going to ride one.
DH is going for his HT etc etc as, like you said, it's only the admin cost at the LTSA that you have to pay for.

Nope, I made a promise years ago never to get on a motorbike, and Willie has every class of HT plus a DG/HG endorsement (it's his job lol) so I'm not likely to need to drive a truck myself
