Topic: Disgusting topic but need advice please Posted: 10 May 2006 at 12:23pm |
Hi
this is a topic that might disgust some poeple but i will like some advice and i don't know who else to turn to.
i am 34 weeks pregant and this has been happening for the past 4-5days.
The front of my vagina has been real sore but only when im walking or standing up from a sitting position. i know its a bit disgusting to talk about for some people but my midwife didn't help much when i asked her about it. she just said 'oh ok when then just make sure you rest heaps.'
Just wondering if anyone else has this happening to them or if they know what would cause it.
thanks

Is it at the front of your pelvis, like in the bony bit? Could be that it is your front pelvis joint causing the pain (symphysis pubis dysfunction). It happens as all your ligaments loosen in preperation for birth. Really painful but not much you can do if thats it - rest, could try a pelvic support belt, keep a pillow between your knees in bed and roll over to dit up... If its not like that sorry for my novel! Hope you feel better soon

Not digusting!! part of life my love!
Its probably all your bits getting themselves stretched and ready for your big day! After all its a big jigsaw down there and things are having to accommodate that growing BUB!
If the Midwife wasnt that helpful and it doesnt calm down..can you see your GP? Is it a lady? or maybe do a google search???
Hope it comes right cherub!

Yap not disgusting at all...And I agree with Aimee. It is normal at your stage. Your body is just getting ready to deliver the baby. Dont worry....just rest up.

Yeah i know what you mean, does it feel like its coming from where you urinate from?? I rang my midwife and ended up at the maternity ward having tests to check i did'nt have a urinary tract infection, it felt like i wanted to pee to relieve it, but that did'nt really work and it was mostly when i got up and walked, it turned out to just be ligaments being stretched and pressure,i still get it every now and then and i just try my best to ignore it until it passes. It gets so bad i cant even walk. My pain was in the area of where i urinate from and just above.I hope that helps.

I'm nearly 32 weeks and have had this off/on for quite some time, so I know what you're talking about!
I asked my chiropracter and he said it'll be the ligaments stretching (as the lovely ladies here have said) and also baby probably pressing on a nerve that goes around your hip and into your pubic bone.
Mine is usually worse at night when trying to turn over, but yesterday had real trouble walking a few times.
I've tried massaging the area, and that does help a wee bit, but not a lot.

sounds definately like others have said - the symphysis pubis pain. it's really common for it to hurt when you get u petc as everything tries to get back into place - i used to even feel a huge CLICK and CRUNCH and it wasn't till ifelt that each time that i could walk, before then it was soooo painful. and rolling over at night sucked too.
