Is a total write off post pregnacy, its all limp, needs washing a lot, the ends and random other bits seem to break and not to mention I seem to be malting worse than my cat, little grabby baby hands don't help either.

Poor wee boy my hair wrapped round his fingers, toes.

Why is it all the shiny plastic toys in the world, babies would still prefer to grab a nice fistful of hair.

Has anyone else had this - does it get better again?

Yes my hair fell out soooo much and it was really embarrassing cos it would always be all over my back and shoulders lol. I'd be putting my hair up and clumps would just come out

It's back to normal now

It's one of those things a lot of women experiance but few talk about!! Go and have a really good cut, it'll make you feel better and the malting bits won't be as long. I had to cut 4 or 5 inchs of hair off (mine was nearly to my waist) as it was in horrid condition, malting badly (we don't have the same turn over rate of hair follicle while preggy and your body is getting rid of 9months excess), split ends, breaking. Cut, conditioning treatment once a week, and keep it tied up away from little fingers most of the time. 6 and a alf months later, it looks fairly good again when I have the time to look in the mirror.

You don't shed any hair when pregnant and then it all falls out post pregnancy. I was shedding for months after. If you brush your hair lots it helps, also using a flat brush too.

It does get better, just takes time.

Wow well I never knew that about not shedding hair - I am making up for it now.

Ok off to get a good cut then, what an excuse to have some time off. Maybe i'll go a bit shorter too.

It should start picking up on the regrowth etc now too, as your bubs is 4mos old and past the early stages when it's quite easy to get run down. But a new haircut is always nice!!

I remember this from my first pregnancy, my hair was gorgeous during pregnancy & then man did it fall out afterwards! Then the regrow kicked in and I had little bits sticking up every where!

My hair didn't do anything the same this last pregnacy, but is still falling out heaps now.

Heaps of my hair fell out after Alex was born. I went and had heaps chopped off, which atleast helped it look better. My hair is still awful since Sophie was born, very limp and thin. Annoys the heck out of me!! My hairdresser said its common, its all hormonal.
