I need some help our little girl is turning 5 in May and I want to get her a portable cd player.  When I talked to my mum about it she didn't think it was a wonderful idea  she thought that it would isolate her. So just wanting some help would you buy yr 5 year old a cd player.

she is a very social child

thanks for your help in advance

Do you mean like a cd player/walkman kinda thing, or like a cd player that can have batteries and carry around. cause the latter jake has and he loves.

with the portable one, I had a walkman as a kid for long car journeys. mum said it was fabulous. but also be careful of the volume

a portable cd player (like a discman or something) could be the perfect gift. ( I had a walkman but oh my how times have changed)

If she really like music then I don't think there is a problem. You could put some rules around it's use though if you wanted like she can only use it at certain times of the day/night or at what circumstances eg not when you have guests
