Topic: Tacky or Romantic? Posted: 04 March 2009 at 9:36pm |
So I have been having some thoughts about how to do something kind of fun and spontaneous with my DH...for no other reason than I love him and wanted to do something fun.
I was wondering about doing something like this:
Sending him a text at work with a location for him to meet me after work...he works in the city...so was thinking a nice bar somewhere. Just doing it as a completely spontaneous suprise. I think that there is something a little naughty yet romantic about it. But am worried it might come across as tacky? Thoughts?

I don't think it's tacky at all, I think it's a lovely idea! As long as he'll buy into it - if I tried that with Willie, he'd completely miss the point and say "nah, it's alright babe, I'm tired"

definately not tacky! it's important to have that spontaneity (sp??) in a relationship.
for valentines day, i surprised DH with a night in the motel room we got engaged at. he didn't know anything until he pulled up to unlock the keys out of my car he loved the surprise......go for it!

I wouldnt give him any choice in the text - would make it a little bit "saucy" and he would def turn up!!!
Now just have to organise my mum to babysit one night!

Sounds like a great idea! I'd love DH to do something like that to me! Although he always surprises me when it comes to our anniversary. Spicing things up like that is definitely needed in marriage.

Do it, do it! Can you extend it into dinner for two and/or a night in a hotel without baby? I'm sure he would love the treat.
Hehe I love the keys locked in the car approach - although my DH would turn up somewhat irritated with that one!

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
