DH had a go at making some for me last night & I was so impressed how it turned out. So if you have a craving, give it a go - it's pretty easy.

This is basically what we did & the ingreds we used:

*Sushi rice (but apparently short grain is just as good)
*Seaweed sheets
*Mitsukan Japanese sushi powder (or you can use sugar & rice vinegar)
*Teriyaki chicken (Tegel, in the freezer section)
*Sliced avocado & cucumber
*Soy sauce
*Bamboo mat (for rolling)

Cook the rice according to the packet. We found that 1c of uncooked rice made 3 rolls of sushi. Add the sushi powder & let cool a little.

Cook the chicken. Spread the rice onto a seaweed sheet, leaving a 2cm gap at the top end.

Place the fillings along the middle of the rice. Roll up in the bamboo mat, pressing quite firmly. Drizzle with soy & enjoy.

Thanks to pepsi as she gave me lots of tips & advice

Here's our attempt:

That's it, Blair and I are having home-made sushi for lunch tomorrow. I made it 3 times in a fortnight when we stayed with Mum as I hadn't had it for ages and it was devine!

Your rolling looks great!
