Awww Birdie Im so sorry you are having to go through this, it is not easy. I have had three miscarriages and I always wanted to try again as soon as I could. The best thing for you to do is to get your doctor to refer you for a scan at your nearest ultrasound clinic as they will be able to tell you whether you have passed everything or not, I have had three and they have all been free.

Thanks guys,
My GP is posting me out a form for a scan if things have not happened in a weeks time. It is just frustrating waiting for the bleeding and cramps to begin

Just thought i would put up an update! I started having cramps and bleeding on monday, have been lucky as it has not been too heavy or painful and i am hoping it will stop over the next couple of days.
Went and saw a specialist on monday (as had emailed him when I was preggars) He was really great but advised that we wait 2 cycles before TTC again I think this is due to me only just being off the pill, I got pregnant straight after coming off it, did not even have a 'normal' period first. Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation? I am dying to TTC again but the specialist said if I do straight away I may end up with another MC and be really annoyed with myself!

Hi Birdie,
Many will suggest you wait 2 cycles for a couple of reasons.. one is that your body has a chance to clear out anything that may have been left behind from the pregnancy, another reason is to give yourself time to heal emotionally.
We chose to wait one cycle, I wanted to have a natural period after my D&C. The second cycle we conceived and we got Jake.
Its important to do what you feel is right for you.

Hey Birdie,
I fell PG straight away after stopping the pill, no AF in between, and I MC at 6 and a half weeks.
We were told that when we were ready to start TTC again it was fine, didnt have to wait a cycle if you didnt want to. The nurse and MW both said the Dr only likes you to have waited at least one cycle to make dating easier (as your cycle can be out of whack). So we started TTC straight away.
Good luck to you, and I am so sorry that you have had to go through this.

Hi guys, this sounds exactly what I'm going through. I've had spotting for a few days and thought it was just implantation or breakthrough bleeding, got a BFP on Tuesday and woke up this morning with the bleeding being worse. It feels like a period, achy, and is definitely red blood.
I went for a blood test today and have the second one on Saturday. The results from today will be in soon, I'm going to ring to get them and I have a feeling the HCG is going to be very low.
I went to work today and it was good to be distracted, I was so strong all day and just broke home when I got home! I don't know if I should go to work tomorrow or not (I'm a teacher). What did you guys do, did you have any time off work? The DP knows I'm having a suspected mc.

Oh no Liz! I just congratulated you in the due in March thread!
I hope that everything will be ok. You have done the right thing by getting bloods done, it will give you an answer. Clots are also a big give away?
I think it is up to you to make the decision on whether go to work or not. It is good to be distracted, but also good to feel what you need to feel and be able to concentrate on what you are going through.
My thoughts are with you.
Emma

Thanks Emma. I haven't had any clots, just the bleeding. TMI but it filled a pad today, whereas the other days was no-where near that much. I've decided not to go to work tomorrow - I think I'll probably be ok physically, but not sure about emotionally... and don't want to get there and then have to leave partway through the day in tears (and it's harder to get a reliever in and stuff). I'm not coping so well tonight so it's probably best I play it safe tomorrow.

I would still have a tiny bit of hope with the no clots thing, some people have AF as normal their whole pregnancy, so I have everything crossed for you and I hope that your levels go up on Sat.
Keep us updated, Im thinking of you!

Lol funny you say that cos I just went to the loo and there was clots... not huge ones but still there. I've just realised I've been grieving since I got home this afternoon so perhaps I just 'know' it's not going to work out. I'm still trying to stay positive but I also have to be realistic.

HCG came back and was less than 2 so I probably miscarried a few days ago. At least now we know.

I am so so sorry Liz.! Big Hugs to you, that is horrible :( All the best, hope you have a good & fast recovery.
Well they confirmed that I had mc on the 5th May after bleeding started on the 21 April & i finally stopped bleeding last week the 17th June. I've found it so hard to get over this I guess while I was still bleeding it was hard to deal with. I feel horrible that I've been feeling real down about it & emotional as I know I'm not the only one to have had this happen.
After a week of no bleeding, my breasts are sore & I'm bleeding again so I think Ive now got a period & might be about to have my first cycle in months! Who would've thought that would be exciting.
We have decided to start TTC in October, which i'm excited about but feel like its ages off & wish it was now! But this way, if we concieve October/November, I will hopefully be 3 to 4 months at our wedding & we thought it would be nice to announce it then
All the best guys, take care

Hey Biddy,
I am sorry to hear about your MC, it sounds like a very drawn out process! I am so sorry that you have MC, and bled for so long! How far along were you if you dont mind me asking?
I do hope that your cycles are getting back on track, I have heard that Vitex can help with that if that is what you want to do. I wish you all the best for when you start TTC again, and you fall quickly when your ready.

Hi Emmi_
Nah I don't mind you asking, its actually kind of nice to talk about it as we hadn't told many people we were pregnant it was only when my fiancee was in an accident and ended up in hospital we had to tell people, so I don't talk to anyone about the mc.
I was 7 weeks when I first started bleeding but 3 lots of blood tests showed that my hcg were still increaseing not by what they were meant to but it was stil hopful, they confirmed the mc at 9 weeks when bloods came back and had decreased by 3000, they then sent me for a emergency scan which showed I had mc but she said there was no need for a d&c as I had bleed most of it away.
My doctor was great but couldn't understand why ive bleed so long so I was treated with antibiotic 3 times I'm hoping that it hasn't made it harder for us to concieve next time. But yea so other than when they confirmed I don't actually know when I lost the baby.
I hope you don't mind me asking but have you been through all this yourself?
Sorry about the story lol and thankyou, I so hope we fall pregnant first shot come october..fingers crossed!

Yep, I to have miscarried, I actually miscarried 5 weeks ago today. Although lucky for me I bled heavily for 2 days and then spotted for 3 and it was all done, it wasnt a drawn out process like yours! It must have been so hard?
I was 6 weeks and 3 days preg on the saturday, so I would be coming up to my 12 week mark this wed if I was still preg.
I hope your DF is ok? Was your bubba planned? How is your DF handling it all?
